This might not last long, but is there anyone else who thinks this is a really bad pairing. Wish once this Lucy story line is over the writers find Ian a wife who will stay long term -like forever- and we can have the longest actor on the soap happy, and hopefully the statesman on the square he should have turned into.

He is looking so hopeless at present - which is what he is supposed to look like - but I am starting to feel so sorry for him and what his character has gone through all these years.

OK daydreaming over but one can wish.

Ian is operating out of his league with Denise - who is stunning, strong and very kind.

I would like them to make a real go of it - but the current storyline with Patrick is doing him no favours.

I think despite everything Ian needs his head shoved down a toilet a la Phil.

I second that.I actually think they may have gone one or two steps too far and made him too unlikeable ,they may regret it in the long run.

I'm a dipper but I find that I can't get through most episode from start to finish anymore, I clock watch and get quite bored. I cut through so much of it at times. I'm not surprised tbh, Zainab was the linchpin of the whole family and it was always going to be the beginning of the end for the family when she left IMO. Shabnam doesn't have the warmth that Zainab had which made her an endearing bitch which is a rare mix but Nina Wadia played her so well.

I think Zainabs exit was so poor that Id like Nina to return even briefly so that can be corrected

Yeah I'm not hooked by it at all and figured I could wait until February to see the result anyway, I didn't really like Lucy so I'm finding hard to give a stuff. Zainab exit is up there with Pat's and was a totally shambles and didn't make much sense. If does come back I wonder if she would be married to her cousin?

To me Masood and Zainab are an endgame couple so I would like them to leave together as much as Id miss them I think there has to be some ultimate final obstacle to their reunion before they leave so a cousin marriage is a big possibility combining family loyalty and romantic love.

Lucy was a bitch but she didnt leap out of the screen at you,her impact whule played by Ms Bywater was minimal hence why so many dont give a damn!A classic soapbitch she was not.

Jane is a sex goddess. There's not a lot I don't know about sex goddesses. I've had them all.

Ian and denease are a dreadful couple. It was kind of ok to start with as she was lonley and Ian was getting over his breakdown but now I just don't buy that she puts up with his crap day in day out. Also the whole proditute thing I think it would have made more sense to have made Ian a sex addict and her be repulsed by him so he goes looking for tarts, why he would carry on and do the deed with rainie when Londons full of attractive brass I've no idea

With jane due back I can't see Ian and den lasting much longer
