It may be a good thing that the R2 release has been delayed as the original R2 release was just going to be the standard type of crap disc you expect from warner with nothing but a trailer as extra features. With the delay we may now get the same as the R1 (US) version which has the deleted scenes documentaries, comentaries etc...etc... a much better disc, which would be worth the wait.

i might go and buy this, i was a massive fan as a kid of this film, problem is that as an adult it might be disappointing.

I also forgot to mention that the above details were for the Region 2 DVD's.
You can get the Region 1 version which is definately out now at Play.com for the price of £15.99 inc delivery.

It's a good bet that the delay with the Goonies DVD is because the film has not yet been passed for certification by the BBFC. If you search on the BBFC web sites you'll see the 2 previous releases of the goonie back in the 80's but there is no newer dvd version of the feature.
However the good news is that it would seem that the R2 version will be similar to the R1 version as the BBFC have certified 2 music videos, Deleted Scenes and the Making of.

And dispite what suppliers are saying There Has Been NO OFFICIAL release date announce for the DVD.
