This sounds brilliant if EE can pull it off, Jessie is an amazing actress & will be put back into the centre of the show, from reading the Daily Star Article it sounds as if she gets facial burns or body burns as mentioned earlier. This will be very interesting & I hope it is handled sensitively.

I hope Alfie leaves her cold and alone, he'll probably do that evil stare that he normally saves for Ronnie or Stacey and everything.

Maybe Shirley the matriarch will come along and give Kat a few words of wisdom. It's what the fans want.

Maybe it's Alice wanting revenge for the false statement Kat gave

My guess is that it will be, yet again, another cheap, headline grabbing story that will become an inconvenience once it is over. It will be all the rage for a month or two but the writers won't want to deal with the aftermath of having a character like Kat disfigured on camera for the rest of her life. Thus it will be a type of disfigurement that can be forgotten about when the storyline is over.

I think the burns will be on her face as that will have the most impact and i'm surer than ever that it's Alfie who starts the fire.

This will be a brilliant story line and really give Jessie and Shane a chance to shine!

I think this is a great idea, and it shows that DTC hasn't lost his balls. Kat is a character that relies on her looks, so potentially taking her looks away from her by having her receive serious burns is a fantastic storyline in itself. The fire probably won't be the best stunt they've done, but that to me doesn't matter as long as there is an actual aftermath.

Jessie Wallace is a great actress and this will really challenge her. This is how you shock your viewers in a realistic way, the baby swap whilst shocking was completley ludicrous.

I wish someone would give me some random, yet predictable life changing dialogue.

Well some say Kat has the potential to be the future Shirley .

Perhaps this is essentially the planting of the seeds in order to achieve that.

Jessie is a quality Actress - I am glad she is getting this big storyline.

Really hope it is to her face. For a long running storyline that would be amazing. Even more so if Alfie is the one who starts it which now seems likely. Fingers crossed once it comes out that will mean them over for ever and hopefully Shane will leave. I have always resented the fact a legend like Kat Slater was lumbered with Alfie Moon. Alfie has never been a icon or legend of the show. Alfie is only where he is because of her status. His character without Kat is shit and has always been shit.

Perhaps Shirley reveals her real name is Viv and she faked her death to get away from Charlie!

I must be the only person pissed off with story, although yes he is portraying Carol and Patricks illness well. I don't want to show to become a follow on for Casualty with a hell load of medical problems. I think he should bring a Dr Leg Jnr in just to deal with all these patients that they have, they must already have a permanent hospital set.

I think Alfie is a great character and in no way shit and he makes me laugh and Shane imo is really good at the dramatic stuff and this story line will give him a chance to shine!

Alfie doesn't need to be 'iconic' to be good, I feel that word is so outmoded these days anyway and it always reminds me of people like Madonna who have this word attached to them to cover up the fact they aren't as good as they used to be!

Alfie is just Alfie to me and always will be and i'll miss him when he's gone!

I suspect Shane will be leaving because there's not really anywhere else for him to go and I read that he wants to tour with his band.
