If the physical disfigurement is having that wart growing off her arm burnt away and disposed off (I think they call it Alfie?) of then I'm all for it.

It should only improve her life.

i was just about to post about Tamwar

i remember when it was announced he was to get disfigured from the fire and they stated he would physically change and it turns out be on his back where no one can see it and moreover it was last seen when Alice was around

but i reckon Kats is going to be somewhere where it will be forgotten about by the next scene

Alfie doesn't need to be 'iconic' to be good, I feel that word is so outmoded these days anyway and it always reminds me of people like Madonna who have this word attached to them to cover up the fact they aren't as good as they used to be!

Alfie is just Alfie to me and always will be and i'll miss him when he's gone!

I suspect Shane will be leaving because there's not really anywhere else for him to go and I read that he wants to tour with his band.”

You are not seriously comparing Madonna to Alfie Moon? one is a world wide legend and the other some two bit soap character played by a former red coat.

I think I prefer Alfie/Shane to Madge...

So do I but lets not get ahead of ourselves. Madonna is a cultural icon and Alfie isn't. Not exactly sure what that user is even talking about. Very strange logic to compare the two?

Am I missing something?

To be fair I think Retro meant exactly the opposite. That 'iconic' is overused in relation to soap stars, although I would like to see Alfie voguing down the market, Tam and Aleks as his backing dancers.

Ive every confidence Jessie Wallace will do the show proud with this storyline but I do wonder if its the beginning of a chain of events that will lead eventually to the Moons leaving?

I know Alfie is a legend, that's what I said!

I didn't know Madonna used to be a redcoat and what soap has she been in?

And no, i'm not comparing Alfie to Madonna, I just meant it's the likes of her who get called iconic and I think it's an overused cliche in any case!

For the record though, Shane used to be a bluecoat at Pontin's not a redcoat!

I am thinking will be Kat, neck and Chin will get burnt, (I don't think it will be the face at all)

it's not hidden but can be hidden be-hide a scarf or something

Maybe Shane Ritchie might leave eventually I doubt Jessie Wallace will as I think her 2010 return meant that she was back for the long haul

Shane Richie (without the 't') could well be leaving, I don't know about Jessie though, they have such good chemistry I don't see her working as well with anyone else.

But Madonna is iconic. How can you dispute that? Unless I've missed something I'm still not making the Alfie Moon connection.

I'm not disputing that Madonna is iconic, i'm saying that the term iconic is usually applied to the likes of her and not soap stars and that I think the term is outmoded and there was never a connection to Alfie Moon.

I can't wait. Anything that makes Alfie miserable is okay in my book. I still don't trust those twins either. Not one bit. Bert is alright sometimes but that Ernie one...

What? I am confused, what has Madonna got to do with Kat and Alfie

I am looking forward to this storyline, not bothered if the fire stunt is good or not, just looking forward to the aftermath.

D”

Madonna has nothing to do with Kat and Alfie!

I was replying to a post that said Kat is iconic but Alfie isn't and I said that the word iconic was imo an outdated and cliched label that was used to describe the likes of Madonna, there was never any connection.

You didn't hear it from me, but I heard Madonna had an affair with Kat .
Well a lot of DSers will be disappointed as they wanted Alfie to be he victim. Yes it now sounds like Alfie says the blaze. I see this as a plot devise to generate tension between the couple if theres no cheating gonna happen.
On a practical level ain't it gonna be a pain in the arse for Jessie to have extra makeup done every morning??
They will make up more durable prosthetics for Jessie if they are for long-term use, so would'nt take as long to apply as the one-off 'puffed rice and copydex' simulated burn injury as used in Holby or Casualty.

Looking forward to the fire, just hoping it doesn't disappoint.

I wonder where the fire will begin, as I would have thought, it would be hard to get trapped, as you have the front door and side door, If upstairs break a window and jump, and if downstairs those windows are so low, you could walk through one

If it's started at night, everyone could be in bed. Rag through the letterbox and it could block the way downstairs before they realise the house is on fire (because it's soapland and even though the house went up 12 years ago, no one thinks of installing an alarm.) Maybe Alfie will jump out of the window and they'll lower the kids down in a similar way as Little Mo and someone with a blanket outside did with Sean Andrews.

Or maybe Kat breaks her ankle tripping over one of Tommy's toys in the panic, thus trapping herself. Someone might persuade Alfie not to go in after her so as to not risk leaving the kids orphaned or something.

I can just imagine Madonna in EE, she could do that funny accent she used to do when she was married to Guy Ritchie and her vadge could give Shirley's muff a run for it's money!

From Unreality TV:

In the aftermath of the blaze, it will transpire that though the arsonist knew that Kat’s twin boys Bert and Ernie were in the house along with their dad Alfie, Stacey and her daughter Lily, Big Mo and little Tommy, he/she wasn’t aware that Kat was in the house…

Sorry, the direct link to the article keeps starring out.
