I agree here. They say Ade acted as a reminder to all the celebrities involved, but I think somebody needed to point that out on these forums. Some people really need to calm it...

The true winner and the most deserving winner of Comic Relief FA2 was Kim and she was cruelly robbed. I'm still angry about what happened last night and so are many other people.

Don't be angry about that. It's only TV.

If you want to be angry, then be angry about the situation in Africa, and be angry about the governments of the rich countries doing nothing much about it.

T--J point well made. It doesn't matter who won they don't get anything for winning! The whole purpose was to raise money and awareness for Comic Relief and really what happened during the contest is simply irrelevant.

Personnely for me it was good entertainment and I wasn't really bothered who won. For me Kim and Edith were both nice girls who could sing. All the celebs put themselves on the line and all deserve a bit of respect for trying whether they were good or not in my book.

Unbelievable - in a post that clearly tells us what Comic reflief FA was all about, some people still haven't got their priorities right.

It's offensive to the reason that the celebrities did this, for some people still to be playing the 'she was robbed card'. Just take some time out, calm down and think about why Kim went into the Academy in the first place. Do you really think she is concerned that she didn't win ?

Your favourite didn't win - get over it. Neither did mine, but the whole programme provided many hours of entertainment and raised hundreds of thousands for charity - not a bad combination.

If you watched Comic Relief (as you obviously did), you can't have failed to be moved by the video clips showing us the reasons we were raising cash - so I can't really understand how, after watching those, anyone can still be moaning about who won or lost. It is of no matter - all 13 celebrities will tell you that.

Yup. So back to the point of the thread: yes, the main thing here was the money-raising and awareness-raising (not the celebrity ego massaging) and I think FA was very effective at this.

Forgive me, but that comes across as really patronising. I'm sure that everyone who watched Celeb FA was fully supportive of the reasons why people were doing the show. It doesn't mean that they can't have an opinion about the way the final was handled.

Perhaps they shouldnt have done the contest and just done a vote, which do you prefer BBC1 or Radio 1

I was all prepared to come on here all-guns blazing, as I assumed it would just be YET ANOTHER thread moaning about Kim or Ade being robbed. Well done for writing such a mature post!

The thing is, if everyone watched the whole of Comic Relief and the thing that made them angriest is the way the FA final was handled, then they really need to rethink their priorities.

Everyone has a right to an opinion about the way the final was handled, and a right to post that opinion, but to say that it made you 'angry' (I don't mean you in particular, I mean those that are posting about being angry) - well save your anger for something more meaningful.

tish tosh.....it is also about self actualising and Kim you were well gubbed by the BBC. Kim was the most talented out of the performers.

The result was decided before Comic Relief started at least this year they actually let you vote on performance.

There are no losers, it matters not a jot who wins.

As I think I've pointed out somewhere before - the purpose of Celeb FA was to heighten awareness of Red Nose Day, and build up a sense of expectation - along with raising money through the phone votes.

That said - the celebs in the Academy (whose motives I am not prepared to judge) gave it all they had while they were there. They talked a great deal about how Red Nose Day was the important part of it all, but still worked hard to put on the best performance they could possibly achieve.

This led to a lot of viewers taking the competition seriously too - it was hard to remember sometimes that this was a celeb version. I think that the celebs did such a good job that they made the public passionate in their voting. It's not hard to tell from reading these boards that people really and truly got behind their favourite celebrity. That in itself must have raised a lot of money.

So Comic Relief was indeed the winner. Well done to the Celebrities, the fans, and the cause itself for being so worthwhile.

But next time think a bit more about how to give the people who have devoted a lot of their time to the programme (in whatever way) a fitting end to proceedings. If that happens, people will not be so likely to get angry, and they may stay focussed on what the whole thing was about in the first place.

For the record, I thought the final was unfairly handled, but couldn't give a toss who won.

The final was a letdown to what was an entertaining contest. Deserved a programme of its own really, especially seeing as so much had been invested into it during the previous fortnight.

Who won was secondary to helping to raise awareness and well done to all the students who achieved that. I don't think any of them would be really worried about winning or losing tho' I think they would all have liked to get to the last night.

My favourites didn't win but that isn't really important in the scheme of things. The final might have been better on the Thursday but that might have meant less folk watching on the friday so I can see why they did it that way. The friday was also when the phonelines are wanted for taking 100% contributions to CR not 15p per phone call [not to be under-rated tho'] so I can understand why they do it like that as well. Let us just be glad that it was a fun couple of weeks .... thanks T-J for getting things in perspective.

I suppose the two issues are related in a way though.

If they'd handled the final better (by having a separate programme the night before) they'd have made a lot more money for the charity.

Personally, I think it's down to Endemol not knowing their arse from their elbow. A more canny company would have lobbied for a separate show.

Remember that they didn't know how successful or popular it would be.
