bib: The dreadful Viv was involved, so that was a given. Thank goodness she has gone.

(And affair/bunk up/whatever, Paddy still cheated on his then wife)

Someone at ED HQ must really hate the idea of money to have so many storylines with people destroying it or giving it away like Edna.... Or even misplacing it like Zak. The thing with Jerky was ridiculous, he didn't even get told off for stealing it from them in the first place. The so called adults just tiptoed and dithered around him cos he "was upset". Way to go ED teaching kids it is okay to steal, and destroy other people's stuff because you are upset.

What about the totally unbelieveable Dan and Chas romance

It would have been unbelievable on its own but she had also had a relationship with Paddy a few years earlier so if you put the two together then not so hard to fathom. Chas has these moments when she will ditch the bad boys and go with a much safer option until she realises that she is not attracted to them in the slightest.

With all the feminist will in the world - why didn't Gary North just hoist Donna back into the roof? She's tiny!

Thanks for the thread Mele

When Adam Barton went on the run after Cameron set him up for Alex's murder he left the farm without even stopping to grab his jacket.

4 weeks later he returns, clean shaven, wearing a clean change of clothes and not a hair out of place

He also mentiond that he had returned because he had got the phone messages that Moira had left him - how did he managed to charge his phone?

When Butlers got trashed by Marcus and his gang, Moira told Cain that the business was finished as everything had been destroyed and there was no way they could ever rebuild what her and John had taken years to build up together.

Two weeks later it was business as usual

They just make up bedrooms as they go.

Debbie's house (Where Katie/Leyla and Vanessa are now living) only had 2 bedrooms to begin with. When Jasmine moved in Eli had to sleep on the couch because Debbie gave her Eli's bedroom. Then the stairs swapped sides and Debbie, Sarah, Charity, Cain AND Noah all lived there!! And now Katie, Leyla and Vanessa. Not bad for a house that originally only had 2 bedrooms.

She didn't drop out of school. Cain tried to make her so she could look after Sarah full time but Emily convinced him to let her go back to school.
She also trained with Scott as an apprentice when she first started at the garage.

She burnt Shane's money as well. Well, technically Jasmine () burnt it but Debbie gave it to her so she could.

How did Aaron manage to change while staying at Wishing Well (Zak & Lisa's) last week?

When he first came back he was wearing a black t-shirt,which he was wearing in his first scene at Wishing Well and then in the next scene he was wearing a longer sleeved stripy shirt, yet when he was in the barn a couple of days later, moira had to bring him some of Adam's clothes?

Aaron clearly hasn't bought anything back from France with him, so where did the change of clothes come from?

The moving stairs was odd... I thought I'd missed an episode or something

Also, there's no way Vanessa's new boyfriend is 17

Yeah that was a bit strange apparently it was better for filming purposes, so they could get cameras in etc.

I wondered what the hell was going on at first lol

As if nobody would check the garage, where April was last seen? She's hardly Bin Laden, it wouldn't have taken a genius to work out where she could have gone in a tiny isolated village,

But aren't the interiors all on separate sets though?

Not sure. I think that was what was given as the reason though.

No. Some of the sets are in the houses. The vets is one, can't remember the others offhand. I think Edna's is one of them.

Exactly, I never understood her needing to resort to crime. Her daughter would be well looked after. Her colleagues would probably have a collection too.

They ruined the Donna story by bringing in the ridiculous crime spree with Ross. It would have been just as fascinating without crime. They could still have had Donna and Ross in a secret relationship. But no, as usual soaps over egg the pudding every time.

Brillianrt thread BTW Mele.

My 3 big ones are:

Tardis-houses (as already discussed)

Donna's resorting to a crime-spree - April would be fine, she'd have Donna's police pension and Marlon can provide for her anyway

The number of people who successfully do a runner from the village when in reality they would easily be caught - in the country where the access is more limited it's much easier for the police to put roadblocks up and so on than in a town/city

We are expected to believe that the farming community in Yorkshire is so large that Moira and John never crossed paths with James and his boys in twenty odd years.

I know that some families fall out and don't speak for many years but I find it hard to believe that the farming community in Yorkshire is so large that they would not at least have run into them at the occasional cattle market?

It would have been much better without the pointless crime. Are Marlon and Laurel now going to get the money Donna already banked from her crimes and burn that too.

Why burn money when they live in the Yorkshire Dales where they could easily have buried it anywhere and retrieve it later. The police aren't even looking for money. All they need to do is put it somewhere they will remember. Not obviously behind the garage or in Edna's garden but somewhere secret.

Why Rakesh would buy a tiny little house in Emmerdale for him, his son, Priya and Amber when he is supposed to be rich. The house was just big enough for Jenny, Nikhil and their baby. I know it is just to shoehorn him into the village but isn't their still a vacant property next door to Val and Eric's house. I am sure when Charity and Jai (I think) converted the barn they made 2 houses. Remember she stored the stolen TVs in one of them.

What goes on at Butler's Farm

Do they rear the animals and then slaughter them for meat and do the whole process on site. If so where are staff and who does the slaughtering. I have only ever seen people standing round at the form and the same big white box being delivered by Moira to the Woolpack.

One thing I don't undrstand, maybe they do it and I've missed it, they talk about having regular meetings with potential buyers from supermarkets etc, and goods do get delivered fresh to Marlon.... What about David's shop? What about the cafe? Two businesses that could bring in a little bit more money for them....

I've seen Moira and Adam delivering stuff to David's shop in the past, not the cafe though.

Why is it in soaps when someone goes in hospital, they always end up in a room of their own

Can the programme makers not afford a few extras to make up fellow patients.
