Good grief!! What is the world coming to? Thank god I'm not looking for a job, cos quite frankly I appear to have become unemployable. Have civil liberties been abolished altogether now then?
It's Greenock - the things you have to do just to get a job at the local chippy these days........

Although tbf, whichever chippy worker first thought it would be a good idea to deep fry Mars bars most probably was on mind-altering substances.

Oi! It might be a sh*tehole but it's MY shit*hole.

And it was actually Port Glasgow...which is not my sh*tehole, thank god

but what's wrong with working in a chippie anyway? Nothing wrong with honest working wherever it is.

Suspension of reality -

JOBS

Marlon - read a book by Nigel Slater, bought some Chef's clothes and became a qualified chef overnight.

Chita, IIRC Marlon learn't to be a chef by watching some random TV programme! I don't think he has ever read a book!

Over the years Emmerdale has been like fairyland with all the ridiculous s/ls. The worst one being every single (rich) man falls at Charity's feet and just has to marry her and keep her in the luxury she demands. Deffo an SOR!

Completely agree about Charity. Never understood that either. I can see her being their mistress but not marry her.

As for Marlon, it doesn't bother me that he isn't a trained chef. Lots of untrained people are excellent cooks. But it is the way he describes himself as a chef. And has a hissy fit if anyone dares criticise his pub grub. I am not a particularly good cook but I could easily turn out the food he does. Lets face it Victoria has managed with 5 minutes training.

Eric, on the other hand, seems to be trying his hand at fine dining and doesn't make half the fuss.

Characters only go to the toilet, in public places, to tell someone off or to sleep with someone in there.
Or to have a miscarriage/get their period when trying for a baby.

I always thought it was massive SOR that Finn never went to Tokyo because "the job he wanted had gone" or something piss poor like that. IT'S ASIA FOR GOD SAKE!! I could get on board with him wanting to spend a couple of years with his family, now there was an amount of stability with them, but NOT that.

Ooh, I was wondering if there was an Emmerdale SOR thread just the other day.

Charity's car - What happened to it after she went off with Maxine in Cain's car and took her keys with her so Cain and Debbie couldn't stop her?

Kerry's selective Diabetes - beer and lager are the worst drinks you could have if you're Diabetic, yet Kerry was seen necking them like no problem on Friday and on previous occasions too. She's also never seen checking her blood sugars or administering her Insulin after meals.

Priya and Rakesh - why are they sneaking around? They could easily just explain that they called the wedding off because they felt it was too soon for them as a couple, but they'd still like to be together, regardless.

What happened to the money Charity took from the Home Farm safe just before Jai kidnapped her? Surely she'd rather stay in the B&B than at Moira's because it'd mean she could get away with doing what she wants and not have to work on the farm.

What has happened to 'Home James' now? While Charity was missing, Jimmy was distressed and implying that the business was on it's knees because of Charity's financial issues, but since Charity's return Jimmy hasn't mentioned it or even visited her to discuss their options.

I was wondering about that. Assumingly she would have got Cain or Debbie to drive her back to pick it up, but did Charity actually lock her car? Regarding the money Charity took from the safe, it was presumably taken from Charity's car by Jai when he kidnapped her, as it was mentioned that Charity's car had been ransacked.

How can Charity actually afford her car? She is virtually penniless, yet her car is a fairly expensive and almost brand new Peugeot 208 GTi. Wouldn't the car have been repossessed when she lost Home Farm?

Marlon expecting everyone to leave his house who had gone to all the trouble of dressing for Halloween just because April was scared. If he was that bothered, why didn't he go and sit with her upstairs? Why leave a frightened child to go upstairs on her own?
Did it not enter his thick head, other kids were let down too.

I am still shocked that we are expected to believe that after Jimmy deposited his you know what in the you know thingy bank that they would give the rescipient his identity along with his home address, nah, not buying that.

Well, considering Charity left Debbie and Cain in the middle of no where and took off in Cain's car, I'm assuming Debbie and Cain used it to get home

Charity took the keys away with her so they couldn't follow her.

The sensible answer is that once she dropped Maxine off, she went back to where they were, returned Cain's car back to him & they all drove away in their own cars.

Did she? Man I need to pay attention lol

Wouldn't Cain and Debbie have been able to hot wire it?

Not if the car is hers. (A gift) The debts were Declan's.

The fact that whenever there is emergency, the only car that seems to be available is Diane's, despite the majority of villagers owning a car.

On the subject of cars, has anybody noticed that the amount of cars we see in the village seems to have dropped? We used to see a lot of new cars parked up or in the background, presumably as product placement. Also, nobody seems to have a newish car (apart from Diane, Charity and Lawrence).

The biggest and worst SOR in ED is that Marlon is still in it. IRL someone in the village would have killed him off by now. Useless great overacting lummox

Isn't it a security feature on cars these days that they can't be hot wired, because the computer chips that run the engine are coded to recognise the keys or some such thing? Basically cars these days are computers so I would imagine that to 'hot wire' it you would have to hack into its security/operating system.

Yes, but Dobbeh's garage doesn't have a computer and still use old fashioned spanners.
