I'd say it's a 9. Maybe more an 8.5, but I rounded up.
Sure there's Amber the drip and, something terrible has happened to Imogen's personality, but I don't feel there's anything major that is sucking right now. I think the Paige story has really helped lift the show, along with Naomi. They've also rediscovered the show's humour that went missing several years ago. |

Neighbours is on brilliant form at the moment. The best position it has been in years! Great cast and engaging storylines. I hold my hands and admit that I wasn't keen on Richard Jasek's era, but I can see now that he was planting the seeds for Jason Herbison.
Neighbours is in a class on its own at the moment, and I would recommend for anyone who gave up on the show in the last few years to give it another try. Overall for this year I would rate the show an 8. |

A 9 for me. I'm loving it. It's been great for a while but it got even better since Paige turned up.

Amber, imogen and Josh aside I am really enjoying it at the moment. The storyline with Paige has been good, although I hate Terese's reaction. Paul's breakdown has been worth watching. I'm glad Lucy is back too, she should return permanently! I love Daniel, but lumbering him with Amber is doing him no favours. I love Naomi too, especially the trouble she stirred between Toadie and Sonya.

I voted 9, the only reason I didn't go for 10 is the ridiculous Chris and Lucy storyline.

I'd give it an 8.
I love the Paige story line. Terese's attitude is very frustrating but debate is good and it's good that people can now choose sides. It would be boring if everyone just accepted Paige. I reckon Neighbours is currently in a very good place overall. However I try to avoid watching the cringe-worthy Sonya and Toadie scenes. The very entertaining Naomi is far too good a character to be dragged down by them! I also can't be bothered to watch Georgia and Kyle's scenes anymore because they're so tedious and repetitive. |

I've given it a 10 simply because I think it's the best it's been in years and is the soap I most enjoy watching. They're blessed with a show runner who cares about the show's history and an excellent cast of characters (the only real thing dragging it down is Amber and now she's ruining Daniel too). It's consistently funny and well acted and in general the stories are good.
I think they need to make Imogen and Terese more likeable again, give Amber a personality and 70% less screentime, make Daniel less like a stoned weirdo and...

I voted 10 as I do enjoy watching Neighbours. I liked the Paige/Lauren storyline and Paige and Naomi are good additions to the cast. It has the right mix of humour and serious storylines. Character wise my score would have been lower as some of the characters annoy me but that's true of any soap.

Is there going to be a comparison between all the soaps? It seems like Neighbours world would come out on top. I base this purely on glancing at the others but of course these polls are voted on by fans of each soap.

I think Neighbours is very different to ED, EE, CS and HO. Not in comparison, Neighbours is brilliant, but that's because of the show itself and when comparing it, it's in a different league. It's a nice soap where there's not too much drama and people usually get along.

I'd say 8. 2009 - 2012 were awful (except a few scenes and episodes here and there)
2013 started off brilliant, but a few weeks after the eclipse it declined again, its biggest problem being Josh / Amber and Georgia / Kyle's constant on / off angst and still not fleshing out the characters of the over 30 cast. The first month or two of 2014 were shakey, having Kate dead, buried, without a drop of blood in one episode was a terrible idea. It was because Zeke and Sophie weren't available for the next episode, so they had to cram it all in. They could have worked it out better and not had Zeke's pointless wedding story. Since then though, its been on the up like others have said. I'm a couple weeks ahead of UK pace but now the pacing is much better, things to look forward to, interesting characters being fleshed out, a range of different storylines going on, everybody has something to work with, theres a mix of drama and humour and little character scenes which have been missing of late. They are also pushing the boat out with sex scenes and innuendos (josh naomi in lift, the erotic novel) and in a few weeks have Georgia throw up some blood and Susan holds a samurai knife to the camera. ![]() Only criticism is still not fleshing out the characters of Matt, Terese and Mark, and throwing characters into relationships within a few weeks (Nate / Chris - Amber / Daniel - Mark / Paige) get a character who doesn't live on Ramsay Street and give more interesting stories. |

I think it must be hard for them to be consistent whilst making the 6 episodes a week so that's why it's up and down but right now it's good. |
