Hopefully this is the best place to put a gardening question.

Does anyone have any raised vegetable beds?
I was going to put some in my garden and grow some veg , as I am fed up of the state of the grass.

Would anyone know the best depth for them, and maybe size too.
Some veg have deep roots, so was going to make mine about a foot deep.

I've done this for years due to rocky soil. Amazon sells kits if you want ideas. My first ones were made from eight foot lengths of 2 X 10s. Cut one in half for the short sides of the rectangles. Wood, even cedar rots though. These days I use ones made from recycled plastic.

I grow a mix of herbs, flowers and veg.

Usually the beds are on top of the old ground so that roots can go down below the height of the bed, it's not like having a large pot.
