I sat next to my partner and a woman with binoculars who went on her own. Next to her were another gay couple and next to my partner were 4 friends. Everyone around me were in groups of friends. Most people in the queue were clearly friends and partners.

I would take watchdog with a pinch of salt when it comes to "many tickets" being bought by touts. If that were the case, friends wouldn't have gone 3 times as there would be no tickets. From looking at twitter and the facebook groups, many people that went were genuine fans and there was no mention of touts. Most people on her facebook pages were helping each other out with tickets at face value if people were unable to get any

Also £238 is a lot cheaper than what some people actually paid to go see her.

We were Row Q so halfway back. View is fine as long as you don't get tall people in front. lol
I know what you mean though. Any ticket is a good ticket. Friends of mine are Row X I think. Last time I was at the Apollo was for Kylie's Anti Tour and I was that far back... without my glasses! lol

Many people bought tickets as genuine fans but also had spares. Some sold them at face value, others got greedy and inflated the price. You don't have to be a tout to do that. One guy flew from Thailand way and a guy from LA had a spare ticket he sold at face value to him.

Like I said on an earlier post, personally I would feel guilty if I had bought tickets for more than the one show. I would love to see the whole thing again, but I feel extremely lucky to have witnessed it the one time and wouldn't want to take another fan's place.

After reading the program, and seeing the photos etc. I have a feeling the DVD may already be in the bag?... I could imagine it being filmed without an audience and therefore Kate could make sure she is happy with the vocal, etc.

There have not been an abundance of touts. There have, however, been people with spare tickets who are fans who have sold the spares. They have all gone in together. That does not make them touts. From experience on Twitter and Facebook, those selling spare tickets have been big fans but people have dropped out. Hence them selling the spares. Unfortunately some have increased the price but very few have.

Having been and seen the people queueing and from other people's experiences, there were not many touts

I wouldn't feel guilty. If I had the money and the chance I would go more than once. A concert is a concert. No one has to worry about others who don't get tickets. It's essentially a free for all in that respect. I would imagine very few people worry about others when buying any other concert tickets.

I think the same with the DVD too. She could quite easily have filmed it already and may add in audience shots amongst the performance. I really don't think she wouldn't release it on DVD. From a business perspective, it would be insane

Why should anyone feel guilty about going more than once if they are a fan? I don't think fans of other artists should feel bad if they see their favourite artists more than once on tour.

Anyway, re: the programmes on eBay. You get oppertunists everywhere. No big deal. If anyone wants to be ripped off and buy one more fool for them.

simply. buy 4 tickets, sell 4, go to the concert with the people who bought the other 3 tickets.

personally i think if promoters want to limit numbers of tickets to avoid touts the limit should be a maximum of 2 tickets each, as most people will go with one other person and much less would go in a group of four. there's nothing stopping people with 2 tickets to meet with others with 2 tickets, although of course in seating venues you can't necesarily sit together through the show

however the promoters job is to sell tickets so they don't really care too much who gets them, regardless of what face value comments they may say about touting. they usually sell an allocation of tickets to specialist agencies who sell the best seats at higher prices, these agencies often referred to as "legal touts" by some. the thing is, until tickets go onsale they don't know for sure if they are going to all sell out or not. they just have an idea

i wouldn't pay much attention to watchdogs comments about tickets.

i know a number of fans used similar plans that fans of other artists have done regarding sales of multiple tickets, in that they plan to buy the maximum allocation of tickets for one single show, with each person aiming for another show. so my friend bought 4 tickets for one night, and arranged with 3 other people to do the same on 3 other nights. they then went to each show, each paying for 4 tickets and going to 4 shows, and going in a small group with the ticket buyer having ID. obviously spending a fair bit of cash to do so

i don't think the sales were a shambles at all. i got tickets easily with no problem. i saw someone else posting elsewhere how they got tickets and they used a similar plan to myself (different from the above). in this case as tickets were pricey i wasn't going to be too fussed if i didn't get them, so i went for one of the most popular shows, whilst many aimed for the midweek shows which would have less interest. i got tickets no problem, in seconds after they went onsale

someone did mention that perhaps her older fanbase (about 70% of concert attendees are middle aged, perhaps 50% are gay) were perhaps not as familiar with buying tickets online and quick at using computers, so that may have gave some an advantage. they also didn't sell tickets over the phone with the main agencies

i think everyone had the same chance to get tickets, but of course with small venues it means that some are going to lose out. i mentioned before the idea of her playing larger venues so more fans could have seen her, and she could have possibly done a warm up show in a small venue, or sold tickets to her fanclub members, but the idea of the bigger venue wasn't agreeable with some. perhaps some people would prefer to miss out seeing something completely, rather than seeing it in a big venue. certainly i would avoid shows in larger venues, but for someone playing for the first time in 35 years who may never play again, then it's a different story

Watchdog's article was specifically raised as a result of the Kate Bush debacle. I went thru all the usual channels & did not get a ticket - I don't know anyone that did. To have those people attend who:
1. Are touts
2. Did not enjoy the concert
3. Are going 2/3 even 4 times
....is disrespectful, but these things happen with concerts.

I accept I failed to get a ticket (that is life) but I do not deny the real fans who did get to go - I hope you enjoyed, really. Just don't hold the organisation of the ticketing out to be holier than thou please! I trust that makes my position clear.

Well I thought that was a strange statement also but feared I would be accused of upsetting posters again!

This 'unique' person is the one that's doing the upsetting as far as I can see.

I really don't understand

a) Where they got these 'percentages' from.

b) How it relates to computer literacy.

c) What age or sexuality has to with any of this.

I did wonder what the reference to sexuality was about. I'm gay and I was able to work a VCR at 2 1/2... It's not all glitter and fabulous dress sense. lol
Also age is irrelevant to technology. It's all dependant on how willing the person is to move with the times

1 and 2, yes, but 3?? Disrespectful to whom exactly? Disrespectful to no one except you because you're so bitter that some real fans get to enjoy the show more than once and maybe spot things in the stage presentation that they missed first time whilst you didn't manage to get a ticket.

It amuses me greatly that most of us have sussed out what unique is all about but he keeps playing innocent. Anyway, thank Heavens there is an ignore feature!

It's a tense situation ... I must admit to have been seething over the last few months about not being able to get a ticket. Especially when you read about touts being outside and celebs leaving early to do reviews etc and yes .. if you see someone saying they're going twice or three times it does give you a pang because you might have waited 35 years plus .. for me .. a BIG lover of the Ninth Wave .. it'll be my only chance to see her perform it (apart from if there's a DVD) so .. I can make allowances for people feeling 'bitter' because that's how I felt .. such is the depth of feeling about seeing Kate perform. In an ideal world all life long fans would get the chance to see her.

I think more than being bitter though .. I felt baffled as to how none of my friends managed to get tickets but some people managed to get them for more than one date It seemed more impenetrable than Sleeping Beauty's castle!

Now that I have the opportunity to see her I feel more benevolent towards everyone else I think I could even encounter someone who was seeing five shows but only staying for 20 mins of each .. without feeling the need to beat them senseless with an oversized cello
