Tried BBC iPlayer for the first time on my BT YouView box, the Humax DTR 2100. iPlayer failed to load with error number YVM105, but rebooting the box fixed that problem.

There appears to be less programmes available on iPlayer on BT YouView than on iPlayer on the internet. The program I can play on a small screen by computer over the internet is a 10 minute clip which goes behind the scenes of the main Doctor Who program. It is called Doctor Who Extra, Series 1:1 .Deep Breath. How can I play the Doctor Who Extra programs on my TV using the iPlayer on BT YouView?

That clip is marked as "Exclusive". Although according to the following it should still be available on your Youview box

http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.u...yer_exclusives

In fact the only places these exclusives are not available is as follows

"Due to technical reasons, BBC iPlayer Exclusives aren’t available on Sky On Demand, Virgin HD set-top boxes, BT Vision and Wii"

Suggest you report it as missing content to the BBC.

gomezz,

thanks for your help and quick response. I've seen the Doctor Who Extra episode on TV, but not using BT YouView. The following statement was in the link you provided:

"You can watch BBC iPlayer Exclusives on your computer, compatible mobile phone or tablet, PS3, Xbox 360, Virgin TiVo, YouView or Freesat device."

A search in iPlayer on BT Youview produced just one result, the main Saturday night Doctor Who programme. A search on iPlayer on my Humax FreeSat PVR produced 4 results for Doctor Who, which included the Extra programme. So I watched it on FreeSat.

I watched it on my YouView iPlayer, but it took a bit of finding. It is there, though.

Hi David

If you can find it again, and let me know how to find it, that would be great.

I don't own a Youview but I suspect it currently has version 3 of iPlayer. It's the 3rd item across when searching for 'ext'.

If it has version 4 of iPlayer it's the 3rd item down when searching for 'ext'.
(Version 4 also finds it if you search for 'Doc'. If your Humax freesat is a freetime model then it should now be using version 4 of iPlayer and that is why you could find it when searching for 'Doctor'.)

I have been getting the YVM105 error number since the weekend - hardly ever use iPlayer so first time tied to use for ages.

Thanks for your help everyone, I've found the Doctor Who Extra program in YouView. I notice the software was updated last night, so I don't know if any changes were made or if I just did not find it when looking the first time. Now when searching in the iPlayer, the Extra program is third along on the right.

I ended up using the Search function, and that found it.

Searching for 'Doc' (or 'Doctor') on my version 3 iPlayers (Humax HDR-FOX T2 and HDR-2000T) today also finds it. Yesterday they didn't and I had to search for 'Extra' (or just 'Ext') to find it.

The BBC probably have rebuilt or fixed their version 3 iPlayer indexes overnight.

Thanks Luis. My results are the same as yours. Entering "Doc" in the YouView iPlayer yesterday failed to find "Doctor Who Extra". Today it works!!

I think the Youview iPlayer update process is separate from that used for other devices and errors and delays can happen in that which only affect what is available on Youview.
