BT you view box problems

BT installed a you view box last week. 6 hours later it froze . BT advised factory reset but this hasnt sorted the issue. After about 10 minutes of having the tv on the screen will make a noise and then goes black. The you view box button will stay blue and the remote cant switch it off. The box then has to be switched off from the back. The box still records prigrammes but when playing back the audio description is on (even though its not set). Bt are coming to take a look on Saturday but wondered if anyone else has experienced the same issues - BT say if it turns out to be a problem here then I'll have to pay £120! All v frustrating .

The box is made by Humax and all Humax hardware will freeze from time to time. The box can also be slow to respond to remote functions and will lock up if you press the remote several times quickly. Mine does the same as yours on occasion but I just live with it.

Thanks for the reply but bit difficult to live with when the box freezes 3 times in a 30 min programme. Tonight alone its switched off 11 times in 3 hours. Last night it recorded half a programme and then died. New box arriving on Saturday from BT lets hope that sorts the issue.
