EE: So a crazy killer who happens to have bipolar is freed!
I find it ridiculous how Stacey is back on the square next week!!
This is a woman who killed a man, yet because she has bipolar, she has instantly been released when in reality appeals take months to come through! And even if she is released, how exactly is she allowed to move back home? Wouldn't she be in a special mental health care unit?? It's the same with Sienna on Hollyoaks. Just silly! Don't get me wrong, I like both characters but how exactly is their mental health allowing them to get away with literally murder and back into the real world?! |

I think it's just one of those things that we are going to have to move past.

It'll be explained. They need to suspend disbelief a little bit here because bloody kirkwood thought it would be brill to make stacey the killer. Moron. However in soap world she confessed and cleared Bradleys name so I'm not averse to a slightly unrealistic time frame for the appeal. I'm glad it was addressed.

She killed an evil man that harmed good people. It's not as if Archie was a pillar of the community.

Yes it was Santer who made her the killer, but I think the plan was for her to go to prison when she left (meaning she could return having served her time) but Kirkwood changed that, hence why DTC has had to rush through all that this year. It's a shame Kirkwood messed this up as Jean trying to raise Lily on screen would have been interesting, her being terrified of making the same mistakes she did with Stacey.
It's not going to be that believable but it's something we just have to move past, I think it'll ultimately be worth it imo. Especially if this more mature Stacey we've seen continues, I think there's a lot still left to explore with her character. |

It's just a suspense of tv reality we have to overlook, it's ridiculous and unrealistic but they've done it to simplify the storyline as much as possible, her return was a cock up and we've hopefully been spared unbelievable court scenes.
I guess this is there way of cleansing her of the stigma and guilt of not taking the rap and now she owned up and went to jail this is there way of cleaning the slate, putting the s/l to rest , I'm for one can move past it as this storyline has dog her character for 3 years. |

We live in an anarchy society. Murderers walk the streets, free to kill again. No one is safe.

Because it's fiction! |

Because it's fiction! Thing is when someone kills someone and they have bi-polar, they dont just release you you go to a psychiatric prison. |

I was confused when she only got a tariff of 5 years in the first place.

I like the Stacey character and I'm glad she has returned, but did they even prove Archie had indeed raped her or is this a factor which helped secure her release?
Surely they wouldn't just accept her word for it. |

What ifshe kills someone else ? How will the victim's family feel towards the authorities who released her ? How much will the compensation be ? She should be locked up and the key thrown away.

I dont get why we have to overlook it. A lesser character would be sent to the dogs, but Saint Stacey can do no wrong on here.

even pushing the realms of reality to the limit Stacey at worst would be having at least a 12 month psychiatric assessment in a secure mental health ward to ensure that she is not a danger to the public or indeed herself.
The fact she is known to have a mental health condition means the authorities would be involved upon her release and she would have specialist care and have to have regular phychiatric assessments too. However like others have said, she'll just come back and act normal until EE wants to use her mental illness to sensationalise another story! |

Any ounce of credibility this show claimed to have had is now lost. I just hope they kill her off as soon as possible.
