Chinese

Just ordered salt chilli squid from my local Chinese takeaway. Wow it's so good. Tender, spicy and not chewy at all.
Normally have salt chilli chicken but fancied something different.
Do you order any seafood stuff from your Chinese?

Yes I love king prawns, squid, seabass and scallops, the wife loves the jumbo green lipped mussels, but I hate mussels!

Are all those things from your local Chinese?
I love all the stuff you mentioned but I never order them from the Chinese.

I hardly ever get seafood from the local Chinese and when I do it's king prawns and tomato. Occasionally I ask them to make another custom takeaway if I'm feeling adventurous, otherwise they have become accustomed to making me my regular char sui and spring onions with flied lice over the last 11 years. I just ring them up and then go and get it. I'm overdue for one come to think about it.

Yep, had great squid and prawns from my local. Best fish I've ever had in my life was from an eat in Chinese, sea bass with garlic and ginger.

They don't have char siu in any of the chinese here. One is just chinese, the other is chinese, cantonese and some thai food.
I've never thought of asking them to make me something specific thats not on their menu.

I never had either but one day I noticed that it said on the take out menu, 'If you don't see your favourite dish on the menu, please ask!!'. Well I really liked their char siu, but the menu dish was char siu, ginger and spring onion, and I don't like ginger. So I rang them up and asked if they could make it without the ginger. Anyway they made it from scratch with extra spring onion, other veg and a different sauce and it was delicious. They charged me the same price as the stock menu dish.

I called in to the shop the next day and said how nice it was and the chef said it made a change to make something that wasn't on the menu 'cause he got fed up of making the same old stuff day in day out.
