As usual, I loved it!! I completely agree with what you said about how EE is so much better when everyone's miserable and everyone hates each other

Nice one. I loved tonight's episode with all the rows and bitching. Denise is superb at the put downs....god I envy her. Wasn't it great the way she held it all together until she was back in the B&B and Patrick was safely tucked up in bed.....what a woman.

Tanya Franks is in a class of her own.

Agreed - the female cast is particularly strong this year

We've got a great female cast, it's just a shame about the guys. Charlie, Stan and Mick are the only ones I like these days.

Edit: Oh and Billy....I don't know what it is about the guy but I just love him.

Has there ever been a strong male cast?!!!

I've only watched since the late 90s but I can only think of Steve, Dan, Phil and Grant that could be classed as strong alpha males that could rival the wonderful matriarchal females that there have always been, or at least had the potential to be.

I don't think they have to be alpha males as such to be likable and watchable. I loved Arthur Fowler, Den, Mark, Frank, David and Simon, even Joe. Then there was the Mitchell brothers and I liked Terry and Nigel. Probably a few I can't remember off the top of my head now as well.

But you're right about the Eastenders women always being the stronger characters.

Another great review, Rory. I have to say, in my opinion, there were plenty of actors who could have gotten the salute this week but Tanya Franks, she is Class A.

Lol! A cock is a hen. A winkle is a penis!! Funny shit!

I agree! It's the make cast they need to work on! Micks character is awful! Phil, ian, max billy and david have all been fantastic this year! I'd also like to see more of Masood, and I'm really looking forward to nicks return

I'm not sure if you are drinking that coffee RJ, or if you are doing an "Alfie" i.e. slurping but not gulping!

Oh believe me I'm drinking it, as my average heart-rate (that of an excitable hummingbird) can attest

Careful now!

Another fab review. Great Eastenders this week, but tell, me how long was Ian in that shower? By the time he'd finished all the arrangements were in place for his trip to America
