I'm guessing that was her exit - was hoping she would stay around for longer! Her scenes with Cora tonight were fantastic.

No it was just another runner and then she'll be back next week no doubt. I hate the way they always do the standard rinse and repeat rubbish with Rainie. She had some really great scenes with Cora tonight and then she goes and ruins it. Anytime the audience start to feel something for her they have her do something cruel so they can start over with he usual routine. I think its about time we see some actual character DEVELOPMENT for Rainie!

The problem is that Tanya Franks is a top actress and she doesn't want to be tied to EE.
Since she first appeared in EE she has appeared in theatre and in UK and US tv She is never not working.
I would love to see some development though.
I thought maybe she might get wind of something to do with the murder. Blackmail the murderer and then get killed
She will be back eventually, I am guessing there is plenty of business around the square for her to take advantage of.

She doesnt say anything of the sort in that interview. Did you even watch it?
She has left. She is in no upcoming spoilers and she isn't listed in any upcoming credits.

That's the thing though, even if she only appears in these short stints they could still develop her a bit.
I mean, part of me thinks it's a good thing that they're portraying a character who's had addiction problems for years and years and explore the reasons she ended up and does end up back in that state and it can't just be cured in 5 minutes and then she's fine (*cough*PhilMitchell*cough*).
But a bit of variation with her wouldn't go a miss.
On another note, I find it completely ludicrous (especially after the Janine fiasco ten years ago) that Ian would decide to sleep with someone he knows can be traced back to the square, to his neighbours/friends. I just find it bizarre that out of all the prostitutes in London he didn't think anything of going with Rainie.

I think we may see her again briefly at some point but, overall, I think she's gone.
I think Rainie and Nick Cotton could prove to be an interesting pairing, with him coming back why not give them some storylines together.

I think she's a great character, it's a shame- the ones I like seem to be briefly in it or take long breaks (apart from Denise and Roxy).
