So they are unwilling to give Daniella some work, perhaps due to her drug addiction, even writing or research for the drugs story, despite the fact she has family there.

However, they are prepared to give Rainie screentime, and are trying to push the drug addiction story as realistic as possible.

That doesn't sit right with me.

This makes no sense at all.

Rainie is a drug addict, not Tanya Franks. The actress doesn't have an issue with drugs. Sam Mitchell isn't a drug addict, but obviously Daniella has relapsed. That's completely different.

And why should they bring Daniella back? Obviously she isn't in a great place, and maybe they don't want Sam back. I don't want people getting parts out of pity.

Silly thread. They don't owe Daniella anything never mind employment.

Agreed with above, stupid thread.

Besides, Daniella Westbrooke was bloody awful the last time she was in EE. If Sam were to come back I would want the other actress.

Its just that with storylines they prattle on about raising awareness, saving lives, being realistic, like moral guardians. then the one person who they could help with councilling, part time work etc they basically ignore. seems like double standards. just my opinion though.

Hmm by that theory it's like saying if they were to have a rape storyline, they should only have actors who've been raped , or indeed rapists play the part?!?!

Oh and if you knew how to spell Danniella's first or second name correctly it may convince more people you cared what she was going through right now!

I don't agree with your idea that a drug addict deserves a high profile and well paid job simply because they have relapsed. Whether or not the Eastenders team are in support of drug rehabilitation it would be completely irresponsible of them to take it into their own hands, especially in the public eye.

It's not Eastenders' job to save the world, though I imagine what they are doing is beneficial to all drug addicts. Daniella Westbrook is not more important than the millions of other drug addicts in the country.

Uhh, who's to say they want to hire her at all?

It's not up to them to go giving jobs out for pity.

Exactly.

Tanya is superb and I would argue that Westbrook was never an actress full stop!
