A FTA showing that no one on DS spotted until it came out in the tv listings mags. Surprises all round, there!

Trawl back a page or two, been mentioned numerous times

Sort of. There was uncertain reporting of other forums, and 'confirmation' that didn't clearly state whether it was a one off or not.

I'm still none the wiser if this is a one off or not. Is anyone else? Have a missed a clear and full post about Pick's broadcasts of NFL this season?

You said no-one on DS spotted it, it's pretty clear from mlt11's post that it was spotted and also that he spotted there is no coverage listed for Week 2. There's no sort of about it

Fair enough. Not a major problem.

Lol I know what you mean - the Sky sports logo imposed on top of the CBS logo bugged me too

Sky never learn...

Talk over the game, cut back late, talked over and missed the opening ceremony.,..so unprofessional. Why can't they just shut up when the game coverage is on. Even talked over the kickoff!

Rant over...

AGREED!
Its beyond a joke how poor their coverage is and how unprofessional it all is.
People slate BT but atleast with the US sport they show, its the US feed entirely and no bullshit, something wish Sky would do for the NFL and be rid of the 3 idiots

4 now. I thought Dara Kennedy was awful. Troy Brown looked embarrassed to be alongside her.

obvious how much sky care about there coverage given that Kevin Cadle is still the host after all these years

Jobs for the boys though at Sky.

Eddie and Stevo doing the Rugby League are part of the furniture, Keys and Gray were untouchable until Gray's indiscretions and then Keys went with his mate, there are other examples in other sports too.

Hence Sky's coverage becomes stale, Cadle has been woeful for years, full of mistakes. He is a former basketball coach, is he qualified because he is American?

Coombs and Carlsson would be better IMO. In fact i reckon that Chappers will do a better job if he covers the few games that the BBC will show.

The best thing about the Sky coverage for me is when the bring in Reinbold after his CFL commitments are over. Sadly he then shows up Cadle and Reynolds for being so bad.

Watched about an hour of the Bears V Packers "taster" game on Pick TV tonight, and I must say all the comments about the Kevin Cadle chap and the amateurish Sky coverage is all true.

They have had most NFL live rights for years and now have every game live exclusively, this one-off Pick TV showing is a pure bait in the water trick to get us to whack down a thumping £45 or €65 a month for Sky Sports. Was quite surprised by just how bad Sky cover this sport. My current cable tv, broadband and phone bundle is less than just Sky TV alone, so they can shove it for all I care.

Oh and my real ire is directed at the pathetic BBC "deal" to cover NFL from 2015 - 17.
Highlights programmes starting halfway through the regular season in early November, the Wembley games on BBC 2 or The Red Button, (geoblocked in Ireland) and maybe the SuperBowl live on TV, but then again if there is a Strictly Come Pansey or Great British Balls-Up cliffhanger, that game will get red buttoned too.

Thanks to the BBC's lack of commitment to sports coverage, they have lost the MotoGp and Football League rights in the last two years and have compensated with six highlights programmes of Premier League games each weekend. And I can't stand the egg-chasers sport, in case anyone mentions they still have those rights.
So angry, feel a hernia coming on.

And then of course there is Cecil Martin.

If they want someone with enthusiasm I'm available

Hang on, aren't you based in ROI? You don't even pay a TV License!

Suppose it's that Nick Reynolds is a bland safe pair of hands, that's not going to rock the boat why he gets the gig, i know he's not everyones cup of tea but Vernon Kay would be better choice[even if it was at amuture level, at least he's played the game & is quite knowledgeable].

What's the point having a reporter & pundit at the stadium, it doesn't add anything to the coverage.

Neil Reynolds also played at an amateur level for about 10 years in the 1990s for various teams in Kent.

I didn't know that, but he comes across as bland, & not one to rock the boat, i prefered Nick Halling but he got dropped like a stone from being one of the pundits.

Actually he left to become Sky's play-by-play guy on Boxing. It was either a freelance gig (which Sky NFL is) or going on contract for another part of Sky Sports. It was an obvious move for him.

Still trying to work out what Dara Kennedy brings to the party...

It's the way that he was dropped that feels strange, yet SKY use him as a Boxing commentator, as you say not sure if he's freelance or another part of SKY Sports.

Dara Kennedy seems to me to be tokenism, just ticking a box, doesn't add to what's being said in the studio hard to add anything when you have Cecil Martin next to you.
