Seems an odd way of handling a relatively small overrun.

The game only went five minutes beyond the programme slot, and they still had ten minutes of analysis. But they have moved the rugby highlights to after Family Guy so are now showing forty-five minutes of filler.

That is a lot of time to essentially write off.

When will the TV ratings for today's Wembley game become known?

290,000. 2.9%. Worst of any live Wembley game on terrestrial yet. Of course it was up against RWC & football.

Bloody over-run. I'm glad it wasn't a close game so I didn't bother watching the final few seconds on iPlayer.

My recording cut off at 6pm on the dot. Usually my EPG updates quite quickly if shows run longer than usual but I don't suppose they had much notice to notify the provider of the new schedule.

In America the game got an overnight rating of 7.2 which, in comparison, is up from the 6.6 that Lions/Falcons got in the same early slot during Week 8 of last year

It's that time of year where Thom Brennaman is promoted to the No.1 team with Troy as both Joe Buck and Kevin Burkhardt work the MLB playoffs.

The programme tomorrow is different to the one which aired on BBC One this afternoon.

Today's was just highlights of the Super League semi-finals whereas tomorrow's is of the Super League Qualifiers Million Pound Game, although that will also include the semi-finals again.

So it seems unlikely they would drop it. Maybe they also have a shorter edit with just the Million Pound Game they could use, but that would seem unusual.

As malcy30 says though, unless there are major injuries or over time they should be okay with the scheduled slot.”

Looks like I was right with the BBC coverage of the London game, and they hadn't allowed enough spare time if it ran over - so the rugby was the casualty. No surprise really, as I think virtually every single late game this season (whether it be Friday, Monday or Tuesday morning here) has overrun the scheduled time allocated by Sky - but they pad it out with Premiier League highlights from yesteryear.

Are the other two London matches on the BBC only too?

They had allowed enough time, it just ran over more than a game usually would. You cannot schedule for the most extreme eventuality (with over time, injuries, and a power cut, a game could be near five hours long).

You cannot compare it to the overnight games as Sky only schedule three hours for them. They will almost always over run, I guess Sky just feel it is better to drop programmes than to have to fill time with unscheduled ones.

But the BBC had allowed three and a half hours which is usually enough to include a full game and a bit of a wrap up. It is not often that Sky's early evening games run into the late ones since they were pushed back to 9:25pm.

The BBC were just unlucky.

No, that was the only one.

Next Sunday's game between Buffalo and Jacksonville will be on BBC Two, Sky, and Yahoo!.

As an experiment the NFL will be streaming the game globally for free. Yahoo! won the rights to carry the game, although coverage will be produced by CBS as it will still be broadcast in the two teams' local markets in the US.

And the Detroit at Kansas City game on November 1st will be on the BBC Red Button and Sky Sports.

BBC Two will be exclusively showing the rugby league first test between England and New Zealand.

I wonder if the BBC will use a studio presentation for that game behind the Red Button or just stick to the US Feed but without ads?

Not the norm, but not rare either. It's happened a few times over the past few seasons, especially with the strength of NFC West teams and if Fox have had inter-conference Denver game

There will be one less commercial break per quarter for Sunday's London game, 8 minutes less commercials altogether. The NFL says it is experimenting with quicker paced games, but I'd be amazed if this becomes a regular thing

BBC Graphics are horrific.. NFL logo is blury compared to the BBC one and the clock seems to be a camera shot of a real clock because its shaking?!

It is curious how both Sky and the BBC are avoiding the Yahoo! logo.

The BBC doing their own graphics as mentioned.

And Sky having the left end of the CBS scorebar missing, not only chopping off the Yahoo! logo but also the down and distance graphics. And when the statsbar if displayed underneath it is still the full length.

As a result both are not showing any other graphics such as the starting lineups, unless they switch to the full graphics. Something they both did once, the first time, but not since.

At least you have the option of watching on Yahoo! too to see the normal game. Although the extent to which Sky and the BBC are going to not mention them seems more likely, to me, to drive people that way by giving them the free publicity.

This is pathetic from both sky and BBC. The scoreboard doesn't even reference yahoo all the time, yet we're missing crucial game info

Was just going to say the same thing. We're also missing any VT's that are inserted, such as the next gen stats piece on LeShaun McCoy, and a bit on Bortles.

What they aren't just treating it as an ordinary CBS broadcast I have no clue. Another bit different on our TV's are the replay wipes. We just get an NFL Shield, (gold on Sky, ordinary in BBC), whereas Yahoo's has their logo in it.

Poor showing so far, and the BBC broadcast is a few seconds behind to boot.

More likely to do with Ofcom regulations.

You can get away with showing the logos of broadcast companies (Fox, CBS, NBC, ESPN) but Yahoo! isn't a broadcast company, so both companies need to show that they have made an effort to exclude the Yahoo! logo from the screen.

Or is it that they don't want to advertise another way to watch?

Either way they could do a much better job than what both are currently offering. Sky's attempt is shocking.

It is nothing to do with Ofcom regulations.

There is nothing in Ofcom regulations about "broadcasting companies," let alone Ofcom have no remit, not care, to decide which companies outside the UK are and are not broadcasting companies.

The BBC could show a McDonald's logo and be compliant with Ofcom regulations.

It is purely a decision made by the two broadcasters for their own reasons.
