Best as a villain, Richard Hillman definitely. Most likeable bad guy... Brendan Brady.

Hillman by far, Brian was chilling.
Nick was good at first, lost it around 2000. Silas was ok, 2nd out of those mentioned. Brady was a loser and completely overrated. |

Nick Cotton was menacing in the 80s but was a joke during his most recent 2009 stint.
Although Richard Hillman was great and his storyline one of my favourites in corrie history he was less of a baddie than fellow serial killer Silas Blissett. The difference being Silas killed because he enjoyed it Richard only ever killed when he felt he had to to save his own skin. Brendan brought humour and likability to his character and had a very complex backstory in which you could sympathise with him he was more of a tragic character than a baddie. So I would say the best baddie as in the most evil was definitely Silas. |

Brendan was strictly speaking a villain, but he wasn't textbook like the others. There was more to it than him going around murdering and ripping people off. He had real, deep relationships with people such as Mitzeee, Ste and Cheryl. Everything he did wasn't malicious like the other three.

Silas for me
He carried HO for an entire year and was a genuinely amazing villain Brendan I never considered a villain, more of a damaged hard man like Grant and Phil I only saw Nick for about 6 months but he wasn't that great from what I saw I didn't see any of Richard |

Silas, easily. I loved that he didn't look or seem remotely like a murderer with his cosy grandad jumpers and silly name but was utterly insane.

Silas, he had many layers. Nick was a joke when he returned, it was so panto and he tried too hard but it made things worse. Brendan I adore but I didn't see him much as a baddie as he did bad things to protect others. Silas was also so unsuspecting as he had a 'near enough sane' family that weren't murderers so it didn't make sense at first.

As a baddie, Silas Blissett with Richard Hillman a close second then Nick then Brendan.
As a character though, Brendan was by far the best. |

Old school Nick Cotton. In the early days he was chillingly evil. His plot to kill Dot was one of the best story lines ever in my opinion.

The 'Nasty' Nick Cotton- before the naughties, that we knew and loved. I'm hoping his re-introduction will provide us with that- not - the pantomime villain that became a joke.

Yep, I think like a lot of people on here, I'd rate Silas as the best villain, and I always thought it was a crying shame he didn't get the BSA for it. Jeff Rawle just played him SO brilliantly, and his scenes with India, Rae, Lynsey, Texas, and even Nancy back in the day, were totally spine-chilling. His entry into the pub dressed as Santa, after just murdering India, will stay with me a LONG time.
My favourite character of all of those was Brendan, but he was a lot more than a villain. He was a properly rounded character who functioned sort of normally (for him anyway) a lot of the time. And he was a victim as well as a villain. Silas framing Brendan for Rae's murder was such a brilliant moment. Which just goes to show, Silas was the bigger villain.
