Just catching up on the results and unappreciating the 'supergroup' and when Zoe says 'super' she means 'super'. McBusted? Not really Cream, Humble Pie, Blind Faith or even the Traveling Wilburys are they?

Unappreciating that all of the couples that actually seem to like one another (and Gregg & Aliona) are being eliminated one by one and we're increasingly left with a cast that blatantly can't stand one another and can't be arsed, as much as Mark Wright might bellow "WE'S ALL ONE BIG APPY FAMILY MR SCROOGE BE IT EVER SO UMBLE" over the top.

Lol, you are so right, it will be interesting to see how this develops. I am a bit worried for Brendan myself. If he has got the Waltz next week he could well be safe and I don't think he can hold it together for another fortnight

But we all want to see people who hate each other rumba, don't we? Or am I going to have to back to my sexual sadism therapy group?

In other news, last year I noticed the embarrassed attraction between Pasha and Rachel, this year I'm calling Tristan and Aliona and Steve and Joanne. There's a group photo on Twitter where a drunk and emboldened Steve seems to be enjoying the scent of Joanne's hair. It'll never all come out in public though.

Oooh interesting. Would have thought Joanne was too namby pamby, girly whirly for Steve but what do I know, I would never have guessed Pasha and Rachel as a couple!

There was a brace of pictures of them together all over twitter. A more kids tv presenter couple I couldn't imagine.

Perhaps the uber-girly thing works for Steve when he is feeling that his masculinity is under question - "ooh, dancing is girly, I've never worn makeup before, this is hard for a bloke like me".

Are we all prepared for next week being the 'comedown after Blackpool/Wembley' week where the judges (producers) decide to get all tough and picky and take a few celebs down a peg or two? It happens every year.

Oh, now I've seen a picture of Steve giving Kristina a very enthusiastic hug goodnight and sniffing her hair. I'm confused now.

Maybe he just likes sniffing people's hair?

I thought he was 'friends' with the rower Katherine Grainger. She looked very pleased when she was in the audience a few weeks ago. As for Pasha and Rachel -good luck to them although I've never recovered from Carol Voderman leaving Countdown.

Well I hope so - a couple were really overmarked.

Judging by the leaderboard that's going to be Sunetra - who hasn't really got any pegs to be taken down - or Steve, who's the same pretty much, be interesting to see which one of Simon/Mark/Caroline they are willing to jettison.

It's pretty unusual to get to this point and have 4 of the remaining couples as bottom 2 survivors, isn't it?

Bottom Survivors Going Into Top 8 :

Series 2 : 1 (Esther)
Series 3 : 2 (Will, Dennis)
Series 4 : 1 (Claire)
Series 5 : 4 (Matt, Letitia, Kenny, John)
Series 6 : 2 (Rachel, Jodie)
Series 7 : 3 (Ali, Ricky G, Jade)
Series 8 : 1 (Felicity)
Series 9 : 1 (Anita)
Series 10 : 3 (Kimberly, Nicky, Michael)
Series 11 : 3 (Abbey, Patrick, Mark)

(Unsurprisingly it seems to happen far more in series with the dance-off...)

In series 6 wasn't NotClooney a B2 survivor by this point or did hers come later?

She was bottom 2 for the first time in the Top 8 episode. Neither she or Rachbot were ever Bottom 2 until top 9 (I think Heather Small being a reliable low vote getter saved them a few early blushes) and then from that point onwards one or the other was in it every week.

Her first one was week 9 by the look of it.

Thank you for that - so we have to go back to series 5 to find as many bottom 2 survivors stll hanging on in there.

It is interesting that people seem to agree more with the judges when there isn't a dance off.

I thought Pixie got lost among all the lighting and backing dancers, and her dark metallic skirt hid all her moves.
I hated Sunetra's frock. It was awful.
LIked Simon's dance. Krotchtina was going for it!!!!

LOVED it that the fabulous Lance Ellington was back with the singers this week. I think this was only his second appearance this series.

Kevin from Grimsby is really getting on my nerves. I disliked him to start with and I didn't think it was possible to dislike him more, but, it is. Oh how it is. He's a big headed little f**ker isn't he.

Thought Mc Busted were Mc Crap.
Especially the leopard hair, long shorts and stupid wide leg stance. Boys, you are not Green Day so knock it off. And you are not really boys any more so stop dressing like kids.

Loved the 77 year old Cardiff Diva they wheeled out to sing Goldfinger. The old glamour puss still has it. Even her bingo wings get more glam as she gets older.
I know some of her early notes were a bit quietened down but her belting at the end was glorious to hear from a 77 year old.
If there was champagne backstage, I'll bet Dame Shirley quaffed most of it.

Sorry Claudia's little girl is still not well enough for her Mum to leave her side.
I would love to see Claudia back and to have her hosting with Zoe.
Give Tess some nights off.

Oh and Zoe, even though you are doing a great job, just tone it down a bit love, this isn't CBeeBies.

Yes I unappreciate the lighting too .. most distracting .. especially in Pixie and Trent's Paso.
