Bloody AWFUL show tonight. Strictly is seriously close to total plot loss.

Feel sad.

For the first time this season I have wanted to re watch 2 dances, Simon's waltz and Caroline's charleston.

Hooray finally it's when I want to re watch things I really do think they are special

And (lets hope against hope) ever will see.

Please God it's a benchmark never again to be approached from either direction.

Unappreciating everything bar Simon and Kristina's waltz. What a diabolical show.

Just watching Yvonne and Barry from Hi di Hi on BBC2 now, to cleanse my jaded SCD palette

This show has become such a mess - its like every week is show dance week!

Wonder if Sofakat is ok or in the corner crying

In grump mode this evening - I definitely don't like the use of backing dancers.. at all. End of grump.

It makes no sense. Let's hope it doesn't set a precedent.

So Frankie, I hear you're dying to do the salsa? Well, you're in luck. You get the salsa next week and you're dancing it dressed as a mummy to the Dead March from Saul.

Parts of it , sides eyes whoever thought a Greek A T would be a good idea, were dreadful.

I did really enjoy 2 dances though

Grump again - nor do I like it when the choice of dance has very little at all to do with the country the dance is supposed to be used for, apart from choice of song - poor cultural awareness. End of second grump.

I actually think this week will go down in Strictly history as a sort of global Bacofoil Snowdance.

I know I watched most of it with the same 'wut' face

In 4 years we'll still be saying 'do you remember when Strictly went round the world and to America twice?'

Except Bacofoil was 90 seconds of bemused wtf followed by a good 30 minutes or so of hysterical laughing. Tonight was just mainly bemusing.

Well three if you include south America!

I think the world is the worst theme anyone can come up, it was even a joke in modern family, that it is too broad a subject.

Me too - and if Mark goes on again about how busy he is I will throw something! Sunetra, Jake, Simon and Pixie ALL have demanding day jobs!

Fed up with him and the stupid themes that Strictly seems to want.

I have too many rants about this show.

As a dancer myself it is a shame to see what used to be a show that showcased the discipline of dance in the best way possible for celebs to learn the dances and the audience to see both a dance and the work that goes into it.

Now that is all gone.

The training VT's are long gone and are replaced by either comedy ones or stupid things they do that could tie in with their song. I miss the truth of the VT's of the practise room and to see them struggle or have fun with a dance.

The extra dancers are awful. It's filler and ruins the relationship between the couples and distracts from the main focus.

It's far too contrived now, it just feels fake, the extra dancers, all the extras, the music that doesn't go and no dancer would ever use. I mean Zorba the greek for an Argentine tango?

The standing ovations used to be for wow and stand out performances, there was maybe one a series, when something was truly amazing, now it's every dance every week.

The judges no longer give a proper critique, everything is always amazing and out of this world, even average dances. Take Frankie, who I like and think is a good dancer, her feet were so heavy and leaden, yet not one judge said it, why? They must see it!
Sunetra has had some shockers and her feet have been so awful, she picks them up, especially in her new yorkers and some things she has done have been technically awful, yet the judges have not said anything!
I remember years back Carole Smiley did an American smooth and was torn to bits by every judge, if she was to do it in this series she would be praised and awarded nines most likely!
Even last year Len was harsh on Natalie for her AS, but this year every dance has lacked most of the actual dance they were doing and had lots of 'faffing around'.

Phew, rant over, i just hate to see what the man who came from DWTS has done to the show and it's all for the worse and most people seem to agree, yet it keeps getting worse. They need to strip it back a bit and make it more about the actual dance they are doing and not trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, they are underestimating their audience.

Tonight had two of my favourite dances of this series - Caroline's Charleston and Simon's Waltz. Both of these could have happened easily without the theme week as they weren't exactly Turkish or Austrian. Frankie's music was a standard jive track, didn't need the surfboards. The others were all hampered by the theme - look at Pixie's VW. Theming upon theming, upon theming, upon theming, from the outfits, to the props, to the clogs on the backing dancers - it was just too much.

I absolutely agree with you. The show is now a pastiche of what it was. I have actually lodged a complaint with the BBC. Hate to say it but I am at the point of switching off.

I agree, I feel let down.

There was just so much in my head I had to put some of it down!

Why have they ruined what was already a great show?

It really is. I feel as if I don't want to watch it any more either and if it doesn't change then I won't bother next series.

I am reading a few people on here have complained tonight, I hope they take notice of their audience.
