Hurrah, you're back.

Think Kristina is willing to forgo the boat and to just swim across to Erin Island. I've never seen someone look so over it as when Doddy launched into serenade.

TTF has competition in the high hair department - it's been him and The Andre. I have visions of Marie Antoinette wigs, complete with sailing boats and birds bobbing around at the back in 'Revolutiion Week'.

If Brendan is forever Johnny Castle then TTF seems to imagine himself as The Fonz but end up somewhere more Potsie.

Watched from the pub, so not entirely up to date but initial impressions,

TTF and P.Duh, who is more punchable

Jaypet, he may well flee the country before tonight

Oti is simply magnificent

No idea what DoD did, zoned out

I watched last night on catch-up via the computer, playing Mah Jongg during the boring bits so I may have missed quite a lot of what was on the screen

Why be forced to choose? Here's an idea from my childhood - when my brothers and I were squabbling, my dad used to threaten to bang our heads together and I think he even did it more than once.

You brought it all back to me. Thank you *dribbles*

My grandma used to make my mum a desert meal called 'Sugar Cornflakes' and she put the cornflakes in water then added a few drops of milk!

She stopped after my mum projectile vomited on to her new dress!

Planning to start doing a weekly blog on this thread or another - so get used to my pathetic attempts of humour!

Welcome back Alli-F! We missed you so much xxx

DoD's face lift has really not worked this time. Is there a live person in there at all? His Jive and samba will be his undoing. Actually, anything that requires a fleet foot and semblance of being half alive will be his Waterloo. Botox is unforgiving.

I don't care how many lovely, good wimmen in Ireland adore him.

Quietly pleased that my predictions of Anita being good and Carol being horrendous were right. I know, I know - but I had to say it. And Carol will not improve. From the waist down she is doomed. Heavy footed is putting it mildly. The voice and the endless excuse do not help one bit. Why go on a live show and then whinge and whinge because you 'can't do it'. Not good telly dear.

Oti and Anthony are a match made in 'beautiful people' heaven. Just fix those feet boy and you'll fly. I just hope there is no backlash against Oti - she's one hell of a dancer and so beautiful ... and sometimes that's all it takes

And yeah, I want Anthony for thread poet because Jay is not going to knock our socks off.

Helen's ballet training shines through, but I can't get past her odd looks and the head not fitting the body. Alijaz did a beautiful job of that waltz. Clever boy. The only problem is that I cannot see her doing a jive or a samba.

Oh gawd! I have to watch P.Duh tonight, don't I? I feel nauseous already.

For all her enthusiasm, did anyone notice Anita's feet? - - - - - -

Yeah, not there yet. She hasn't sussed out how to point and does not stretch her legs properly They behaved better in training but technique does kind of go out the window on your first performance, and then you get better and start remembering everything.

which couples tonight do we think can dance well?

for me

Georgia&Giovanni - should do a good Jive

Peter&Janette - i can't warm to him, but he should do well on the Cha Cha.

Jamelia&Tristan - i don't know about this couple yet

Jeremy&Karen - if he does well, than i'll jump off the blackpool pier in a Conchita like outfit

Iwan&Ola, they should be happy to avoid a disaster

Jay&Aliona, he must control his nerves

Mrs-TTF.

I found Helen a bit ragdoll-ish but she should get there. She has beautiful hands. I guess that's the ballet influence. Ringah!

Karen Clifton

Anthony is definitely thread pet material, and should stay to the end just so me and Mr AK can gaze at Oti

Think trouble is if she did, she'd find DODdery already there. I thought he had Bells Palsy watching that rictus half grin and does he have false teeth or did his dentist shaft him really badly?

I quite like the new dancer - Otlile I think? She has twice the personality of her partner - I have to admit, me and my wife chuckled watching him limp along with one arm.

Not keen on Kellie Bright or the overhyped bore that is TTF.

Helen is ok, but I felt her dance was overmarked - while Anita's felt under marked.

Daniel O'Donnel really gives me serial killer vibes - although he has the personality of an amoeba.

Poor Carol Kirkwood - she's one of the most likeable but that was dreadful.

Series 8 tore the heart out of the show by adding props and comedy vts - and the show still hasn't recovered. I wish certain professionals would learn that a dance routine should have dancing in it, and not a significant amount of time spent on 'introductions' and 'faffin' about'.

Let's just hope this year will be better than last year, but the early signs are not good!”

Hello! Totally agree with you about the 'comedy' VTs. You don't get to see if someone is really struggling any more, or any real glimpse of their personalities. Everything is superficial.

I can have a little patience with props used as a setting, if they're not too over-the-top. I also can tolerate small use of props for duffers if only to spare their blushes - we can still see they're duffers, even if they've lost 10 seconds faffing about. Things like Russell Grant being fired from a rocket is way too much.

O

Hello gorgeous, sorry it's been so long I'll take Anthony as thread pet (do I still get a vote?) just hope that shoulder repairs quickly because he cannot dance one armed for rest of show.

Helen's a bit too twee for me, not in a good way either, that fainting little ingenue is not going to fly for long. She's one of those "stamp over whoever she can that's in her way" sorts

The Andre is going to make Donobot seem like a laid back comedian isn't he? Desperation just oozes off him, bloody Austrailan men, why couldn't we have Adam Hills, one with a sense of humour?

I like Gleb, but then I am as shallow as a puddle. I don't find his personality any less made of cardboard than Aljaz or Pasha

TTF is still intensely irritating, I see, even though I've had 2 years off

And do they have a production line for caricature uber flirty Italians out the back?

It's a serious delusion he's got there. Steve McQueen was cool. Samuel L Jackson's cool, as is Jack Nicholson or Justin Timberlake or Johnny Depp. Somebody needs to sit the tree frog down and explain to him that Freddie Garrety wasn't.

Aaaahhh! Of course!

Yes, agree with the rag doll image. I think it's the lollipop head and odd makeup. She's a pretty woman so I am not sure sure they have made her up to look like a doll?

Arms and hands completely ballet - but I like that. She also has a very balanced upper body, which is lovely and hard to learn. Young Georgia will have a problem with that.
