No, I didn't take it as a dig - it's just a fact. She's clearly trying though and it was better than I expected too.

Jeremy!!! Can't stand him on Radio 2 with his stoopid Daily Heil callers-in, to say nothing of his self-vaunted Swingometer, but I actually like him on Strictly! Am I losing it? Think it's his big daft grin and sod-it-so-I-can't-dance attitude.
P-Duh. A dark part of me wants him in the final because that way a beautifully interesting NAT thread. However, no can do because there's something deeply horrific about revolting men wearing red as in a Stephen King-type small but ineffective devil that prods you most painfully forever like toothache or period pains.
So: for me a less interesting NAT with Jay but WHY HAVE THEY CUT HIS HAIR??? It's boring and it just makes him look pretty boy. I like men with long hair (am 67 so that probably explains it). Super waltz though.

Now off to vote - split between Anita and Jeremy.

Oh - to topic - as always can unappreciate the Tess Frock, which apparently needed a bandage tonight.

Back later. xxx”

I do think that Jay's hair needed taming somewhat, but maybe just trimmed an inch or two & thinned out. It will probably look better when it's not being gelled back for ballroom.

Anita had the pimp slot last Friday, a Waltz is not a very happy ending for a show (until it's P'duh turn ) so I would have put Katie and anton s tango.

I am confused too. I thought he looked clumpy and NOT light on his feet. My O/H thought he was overmarked as did I.

Thought the running order was weird. Would have preferred to see Katie dance last and PA in the middle.

It will be interesting to see who is in the DO and who ultimately goes.

Can they have a word with Kristina whilst they're at it? They destroy celebs for doing it, Craig especially

Thanks Aggs.
I'm obviously in appreciating mode tonight but you know, re DoD, growing on me too. I don't know much about the Oirish, but he reminds me of Orcadians and Western Isles people and it's just that that's how they are and don't emote out loud or move their faces about much. At all. I just hope he doesn't start strictlifying and emoting contrary to hisself. Christina's already started him gurning for gawd's sake. Hope it doesn't continue.

Also appreciating Anton (can't reconcile to this yet) so far this series but remain unconvinced re partner but am glad she's good.

Also wish Helen had appeared with a rescue Staffordshire bull terrier but heigh ho you can't have everything.

Just caught up. Thoughts so far....

Kellie deserves Kevin - both as twee and annoying as each other. What was with the red merkin?

Lots of celebs nowhere near as good as they think they are.

PDuh is going to get overmarked all the way to the final. What was with the trotting and the crap footwork? lthat had to be one of the slowest quicksteps ever.

Unappreciating that they cut Jaypet's hair

Aljaz in a vest? More please.

I've also just caught up and cooked. I've been out working today.

A few thoughts.

Jay pet was remarkably good - I can see him soon getting the pimp slot.

Peter's QS was like the one I did a couple of years ago for my gold ballroom - without the waffle at the start and end and without the trotting and skipping. Yet again Janette is showing her lack of ballroom experience.

Shame about Katie's mistake as I loved their Tango. I can see Katie and Anton are going to be around for ages.

Jeremy is endearing- shame about the goat wrangler.

Helen needs to relax and bend her knees a bit - and hubba mumma Alijaz in dungarees and vest/engineer. .... Me likey and he doesn't often row my boat.

Anita - nice try but was it just me or did Davearch slow the music down A LOT? It wasn't as good as it was pimped up to be.

Nat on full camp alert.

Anthony - far too conscious of his shoulder. Shame coz he showed promise last week. He shouldn't have taken on Strictly if his body couldn't do it.

Iwan - meh. He wasn't a happy bunny was he?

TTF and Katie - both going to annoy me - that will be the natural cooking/kettle break in future.

O'Dreary - sort of endearing but the jury is still out.

Poor Tristan - I can't see him lasting long.

Kirsty - Pendledrama II. Brenda needs a slap.

Forgotten 2 couples they were obviously not too memorable.
Carol and Pasha - hope they avoided the DO.

And who else .....?

And in answer to a question earlier, I think Louis and Flav were pimp slot two weeks running (and I have a feeling Russell was too).

Unappreciatinf that all of the dances are on YouTube except Jay and Aliona.
Weird.

Watched again some of the dances and I still maintain my opinion that Anita's wasn't that great, but Katie's tango was fab for all sorts of reasons. I think she is getting the better wardrobe and make up (like SEB got on her year).

People seem to have become fixated about 'the ballet background' and Helen's legs.

Yes, you do have to unlearn the style and re-calibrate, but it is NOT impossible with a good teacher. I went from years of solid ballet training to flamenco, and from there to ballroom, and then Cuban salsa. It can be done. Sheer bloody minded will and a good teacher will fix it. It is not impossible.

I wasn't all that wowed by Anita's Charleston. I think she tried to get some swivel in, but it just didn't happen. The whole thing looked very messy.

I'm sure it's possible, but we don't really know exactly what her background is. How long has it been since she has danced at all? I think her Latin will get much better though; she has only been doing it for a few weeks.

Spoiler thread has the result now for those who want it. Just a reminder that we no longer discuss it at all in here as even with spoiler tags, slip ups can be made.

I will unappreciate how inpatient and ungrateful some posters were being on the spoiler thread though!

I thought perhaps soles of her shoes were sticking to the floor in places, though I get why she was wearing them.
