Karen – what is it with her? (Has she done some bulking exercises for her thighs, btw?) She is not totally incompetent, as she managed to choreograph some routines last year that brought out Mark’s strengths (and no, I was no fan of his by a long shot) and looked presentable. But looking at everything she did before that – I vaguely remember the Irish boybander who, despite an undeniable music background, made barely any progress with her; and clearly remember Dave Myers, who is also an amateur musician, whom she failed totally – and now at what she does with Jeremy, I really wonder what she thinks she is supposed to be doing. (I know it’s not her fault she is far too short for him.) Were there any relevant dance steps in Saturday’s American Smooth? Nothing smooth about it, really, and I would not have recognised it as such. Does she understand that she is supposed to teach the celebrity something and to choreograph in order to showcase his abilities rather than grin and hop and wiggle around? Just look at Kristina – the routine was perfect for Daniel, not too taxing or silly, and it was a fairly recognisable Charleston. Is there any hope Karen will come up with something remotely similar for Jeremy?

I’m also tempted to say something about the hour-long ITT on Friday, but that would bring back JFG’s pink cupcake tiara, so maybe save it for another day.

However, Rod Stewart’s (is he a Strictly superfan or something?) leopard print jacket and the dancers’ matching dresses on Sunday's show cheered me up no end...”

Welcome!

With the bizarreness of PDuh's pony gala QS, Karen's weird Choreo for her & Jeremy's smooth does seem to have slipped under the radar. Still haven't figured out why it was set in a library or why they had that bit at the chorus where they looked like they were having a bad acid trip.

Didn't we have a rule that newbies have to bring alcohol though?

We did! Newbie prezzies, hurrah!

Why was La Hardy moonlighting on the markets before ITT tonight with that ridiculous money belt thing tied around her waist & all her pregnancy weight was round the back it seems. Miaow!

Katie cut down on the nose scrunching tonight & was far less annoying & the sofa gap between Ola & Iwan could not have been more pointed

I still haven't watched any of this year's ITT yet. I'm still haunted from last year's experience of Funnity Fun appearing when I wasn't expecting it!

He seems popular on here does Gav....and if Google is correct they have mutual, if not contemporaneous, body envy...

BIB I'm so glad someone else it irked by it. I can see her and Anton doing the whole Bewitched thing at Halloween and she can scrunch nasally to her heart's desire. Heck, she can even magic up Anton's beige polo neck again.

Personally, Anton can wear as many polo necks as he likes if it keeps The Rug nice and covered

Welcome! There's a reason Karen is called the Goat Wrangler here... I think we also discussed her amazing expanding thighs last year. I don't think her knees can meet, I find her a very ugly dancer. As for her choreography? She does seem to like to stop for pat-a-cake thingies far too often.

Karen, Joanne and Kellie love to do that thing where you try to break your back, perhaps you need thighs of thunder to do that.
I am just extremely grateful that we don't know what TTF s thighs look like. Let's never know, but judging by his puny chest I think Karen is the muscle Mary in that relationship.

Oh dear I am awake with a dicky tummy I have really made myself sick now

I think her choreography is very uninteresting and basic when compared with Kristina, Aliona or Pasha - and Trent Whiddon from last year. To be honest I think Mark got to the final because of his support from TOWIE viewers- not his dancing.

I suspect that she and Kevin come as a package and think a lot of viewers love him.

I have to agree with previous posters who pointed out she did nothing with Nicky who did have rhythm and even Si who could manage rhythm and some grace - she went down the gimmicky route with little dancing in it.

The "famous" back bend thing gets on my wick. Yes, it's impressive that they are that bendy but it doesn't mean that it looks good. I find it impressive that my 6 year old is able to bite her own toenails but it doesn't mean that I want to see her do that either. Just because you can do something, doesn't necessarily mean that you should.

Generally, I prefer to watch dances without wondering how bad their future arthritis will be.

Honestly that ought to be part of anyone attached to SCD contract, the number of things I have seen that I never wish to see again is ever expanding, Kirsty and Brendan have already produced too many this year.

Yes Kirsty is athletic but do try and teach her to dance, you know with her feet on the ground every now and again. He met his inspiration forever didn't he when those show dance champions appeared on the show just before Snowdance.

Actually, that inability to control her limbs is very reminiscent of Lisa in that dance, NO Brenda, we were bemused and delighted by it, but we don't ever want to see it again.

Oh ditto Sophie in her show dance and Pendrama forever, he also felt Pendledrama was best when not actually on her feet.

After watching Anton and Katie's tango during the weekend, I'm starting now to realize that she could make the finale . She is actually quite good and to my surprise I really loved that tango. Anton could make his second finale in 12 series . I'm not sure whether to appreciate it or unappreciate it

Anton & Cha Cha Cha = oh no, disaster for him

Poor Katie, Anton's latin isn't really good

Hello and welcome

Karen's choreography is downright awful generally, I'm still recovering from her and Mark's '5 year olds hyped up Haribo' show dance from last year

ETA: Oh god, just seen Kellie and TTF have the Charleston this week *reminds self to make sure TV is insured against accidental throwing heavy objects at it during OTT gurning and overdose levels of tweeness*

Anton's not been in a final yet so it would be his first. He came 4th with Laila (quarter final knock out), I think he also came 4th with Lesley LAAAH Garrett but might've been 3rd (was a 2 person final between Kerplunk and Chris though). I think that Patsy was 4th or 5th. I'm sure that monkseal will be able to correct me with his trusty spreadsheets. I could google it but I should probably finish getting miniDOT ready for school

Where ever it is, and god I wish it was Siberia, it's going to involve them being CUTE, and pulling CUTE faces, and wanting everyone to say aren't they CUTE. I've a horrible feeling that it could be something from Bugsy Malone, probably Fat Sam's Grand Slam, just because I like that film and TTF probably sees himself as Bugsy and I'll never be able to watch it again

Karen was right about one thing, the judges are really nitpicky.

it's only week 2, and the judges give comments like they are all professionals.

the Celebrities have no Latin or Ballroom experience ( except Jay who has that experience).

so i hope next weekend the judges are little less harsh.
