Jay has fantastic feel for music which no amount of training could teach him. And no amount of contemporary could get him to jive like that. He's just that good, and now I'm in the position of praying for OurLeona to get this right. And that feels so very strange!

Aww, you mean Janette adopting the KevinCliftoncopyrighted 'Save Me' ooening (although sadly without the PE socks and plimsolls costuming) with Mr Punch being the ultimate dope on a rope didn't have you reaching for the 10 paddle?

I'm very late to the party but no, you weren't the only one. I was thinking exactly the same thing.
Did anyone else get sick of hearing "you've worked so hard" or "we've worked so hard"? As if that somehow makes up for lack of technique/skill/whatever. And as for P.Duh - how can a singer have so little musicality? I don't understand it.
Thank god for Claudia, and Jay, in tonight's show - they made it bearable.

He is a natural. No amount of stage school commercial dance can help you get the jive right. You have to have what it takes to 'get it'. He just has it.
Does not matter how much people bleat on about him being 'trained'. He wasn't. That stage school stuff does not make you an exceptional dancer, unless you have an innate talent. And even then you'd have to go and get some proper training afterwards.
There is NO substitute for sheer talent and ability.

We'll be feeling no pain for a while I suspect, but thank you hun 😘😘😘

You don't dance like that without a real feel for the music and a natural talent . I'm actually getting some trust with Ourleona when it comes to choreography, that jive was so good and so full on. Really want to see their paso now

That would really have made my evening.”

Jaypet and Mr Punch. Both singers/musicians. One can feel the music and one .... can't.
After that jive, I am tentatively prepared to trust OurLeona.

A world apart.”
They certainly are.
It has been a very bad week for PDuh - first, his court case, then his dance - which showed very clearly he isn't the best dancer. I almost feel sorry for PA.
Somehow I don't think the West End Musicals are going to beat a path to his door - think this is what he has been hoping for.

I am imagining a massive backstage strop by Kellie a la Violet Elizabeth Bott."Shriek, I was the best, Shriek I had the highest score, Shriek, I had props Shriek and TTF playing with his light sabre Shriek, Shriek,Shriek"
I'm wondering whether PDuh is being lined up for the 'praised to the high heavens until the quarterfinals when the judges suddenly decide to judge him properly' storyline. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This.
I could not agree more.
A friend of mine trained intensely for 6 years to play violin. She was astonished when she found out that just after one session my Sevillanas teacher told my mum that I needed to be fast tracked to flamenco second year because I was really "born with it". My friend was astonished because after 5 ½ years her teacher said she had made progress and she maybe could make it into a decent violin player. She could not understand that for the arts talent is innate and no amount of teaching can give you that special thing.
(my mum did not listen and my dream of learning flamenco at a reasonable young age disappeared )

Anyone else feel like his comments didn't match his scores? The judges were all "your performance is amazing, what a showstopper" then gave him 7s (even though it barely warranted 5s)

Oh I think we can bank on that sue21! Ooh! the racket. TTF will be furious and will sulk for hours.
Frankly they were just naff tonight. Ghastly charleston and sodding light sabres!. her costume was vile too.

Mr Punch seems to be occupying the slot of comments not matching scores at the minute. Listening to his comments, you wouldn't think he was actually 5th on the leaderboard. Even Jamilia was only about 3 points behind his total score.
Edit - yes me too, Alli Last edited by aggs : 10-10-2015 at 21:42

I thought they were trying to gently manage the expectations of the audience, who went batshit for it because of the flashy woo woo lights, fog machines and idiotic Hallowe'en costumes. I wasn't surprised by the scores tbh.

I am so sad that you did not move on to study flamenco seriously. Dancing flamenco is in the soul. You know better than anyone that you cannot teach duende. I so wish you had had your chance!
