Sighs.

But it doesn't mean I understand the Allison love, though I do appreciate the Elizabeth Barthory reference

Some might argue that bathing in Tess's blood is automatically a plus point.

Not me necessarily but some might.

I just noticed that Scott mouths "ho" along with the music in the titles.

Poor Scott, I wish he were better for being the ho so well.

No but I bet he reads Monkseal, Erin Islamd was such a thing I bet a lot of the producers dancers and celebs read him.
I know several contestants from other series like the Bake off and apprentice have met up.
There is little viciousness and much gentle ribbing I think I would be honoured to have the Mickey taken out of me.
Indeed the mentions of DS I find endearing as well to anyone with a bit of self awareness, we all do go slightly bonkers with the fandom thing or loathing someone so much for spoiling our special programme.
When the show is over I forget about them all and get on with the rst of my life, however I can quite honestly say I am seething over Joanne's behaviour at the moment, especially as I like Scott so much, how dare she be so naff and do such dreadful embarrassing choreography and get him gone from the competition much sooner than he ought to go.
I absolutely know I am irrational and no doubt Joanne is a perfectly reasonable person but so far she is my itchy teeth person.

Who decides on props - is it the Pros or Producers? Because those beds in Joanne and Scott's dance were deeply awful. Does anyone also know who decides on the music?
And its almost as if she has decided he is going to dance badly before he even started so she is making him do gimics and comedy.

To be fair to JFG, if I must, it seems to be more the producers than either the pro or celeb.
Scott certainly doesn't appear to be looking forward to his upcoming appearance as a comedy samba dancing crab.
I actually think it's a bit mean, trying to force someone into the comedy box when they clearly aren't keen.
Seems like a celeb can't just be a beginner anymore, they have to be a good beginner else they are rammed into the 'make em laugh' slot, which just gives them something else to worry about.

Don't know about Scott - I think he's too busy worrying about being made to look a complete 'nana at the minute - but Jake definitely is

Ditto, she's actually making me start to dislike Scott, someone I've always previously always liked, I'm on the verge of disliking her more then TTF

Can someone please explain the whole erin island thing? Seems to pop up in loads of threads.

Up to series 6, Erin seemed quite engaged with the whole show and training celeb stuff. She managed to put the Colin thing behind her and get on with it as normal, but then came series 6 and Austinwuzrobbed and she never seemed quite the same. It was like she threw her hands up in defeat. Her body may have been doing the Charleston with Peter Shilton dressed in the most horrendous outfit, but her eyes had the look of someone whose mind was far, far away. On an island. On a beach. Drinking piņa colada. Being waited on by hunky waiters.

Then, for her last ever dance with Richsrd Arnold at Wembly, she did a salsa on an actual island. With hunky backing dancers. To Club Tropicana. It was awesome.

I think Monkseal first coined the term in his blog a few years ago.
Doubtless the Monkseal bat signal will alert him to appear and explain

Oh it seems to have failed, Aggs gave a great explanation anyway.

UnappreciIating my lack of anticipation for tomorrow.

I am only looking foreward to Jake, that's not good.

Michael Vaughn and Natalie made a great comedy duo especially in THAT jive, yet something has gone wrong with poor Scott does not want to be thrust into that role 😒

I'd say aggs had it covered (one of the key things about Erin Island is to remember just how very very competitive Erin was pre-Austin and how utterly zoned out she was afterwards. This also was about the time she completely and finally changed her style from her old hard-faced, scraped-back black hair and no cleavage look to something much softer)

I think it gradually dawned on Erin that she was never going to be handed a contender again. I always thought her backstage reports on ITT were rather good. It's a shame that she wasn't given some kind of Strictly role after her departure. Now that she is back dancing again it would be good to see her do the Christmas show.

Unappreciating that Pixie always talks as if her jaw has been wired together. It's as if she's been drilled into smiling at all times. I know that most of the celebs are doing this for the publicity but it is kind of annoying me that Strictly coincides with her new album and her new stage school. It feels like such a strategic move on her part.

ITT was fun. Not only is Strictly hard for the tall and the short it is now hard for those who have danced before because you have to unlearn everything you have learnt before and that's hard. Tell that to Scott!

I notice she didn't unlearn the ronde de jambe (*flings leg around for the 15th time this routine*).

It seems to me that that figure/move should be accompanied by the words "All in the best possible taste"

Thanks for all the explanations folks. Makes absolute sense now. I used to love erin but when she left I was meh about it. Though that may have been cos she didn't take her pro partner with her!

Kimberley and Pasha did an entire Cupid Stunt lift in their American Smooth to Fever.

When Strictly worlds collide - Ola is currently linking to the Daily Star trying to get people to look at hot pictures of her and buy her calendar, Steve is currently attacking the Daily Star for creating fear-mongering stories about spiders. If the producers want to fabricate a showmance it's going to have to be the 'slap-slap, kiss-kiss' variety.

Can I unappreciate myself for thinking Donny Osmand might not be too bad as a judge - at least he seems to have taken the time to have learnt who the couples are and seen the previous dances, which is a big step up from other guest judges - but the 10 year old David Cassidy fan who is still in here somewhere is disgusted with her older self

As long as you are not lusting after Donny you will recover. If you are I would be seriously worried.
