Yup. I thought the judges were commenting & marking on a completely different dance to the one I saw.

Ah ok. In the context of Crunchie's post which you'd quoted, it sounded like you knew the result so it seemed quite spoilery. Let's all just whistle innocently & pretend that none of this happened

Aaaargh! I was enjoying the series on the whole. Good mix of cringers, improvers, surprises and ringers. Judging was relatively fair...and then last night happened!!!

Every series there comes that point when the judging gets mystifying and I wonder how they can hold their heads up as dancers and performers as they willfully look the other way when bad technique is displayed and then praise imagined technique and under mark people they don't like. They rip apart some without any real constructive criticism effectively dismissing them as contestants. They praise some who obviously forget their choreography and condemn others for the exact same thing! I could rant on and on about the inconsistencies but I know it's not necessary here!

Austin was robbed!

I don't wish to sound preachy (actually I don't really give much of a toss) but the tone of the posts discussing the spoilers are... how shall I put it? Well... spoilery (not actually a word but you know what I mean).

While they don't say who does go/is in the dance off, I think it's pretty clear who doesn't go/is in the dance off.

You don't have to actually name names to spoil a result.
Can we go back to using spoiler tags when referring to the result, even obliquely?

I agree.

Those who read the spoiler, please be aware that a lot of others don't.

Please discuss the spoiler result in the spoiler thread, not here

I am sorry that my quote started the whole spoiler debate. However my original quote did not mention any names, apart from a person who was not even close to the dance off. Pixie was top of the leader board, no way would she have been unappreciated that much: Much as I can hope..

Still no mention of anyone other than one contestant that was not in danger

And no discussion of the spoiler result in either post

As I said, you don't have to name names to spoil at least part of a result.
Simply using an emoticon is enough for anyone with a braincell count in double figures.

I with you on Pixie though. I can't stand her performances and I'm still not sure why.

Well done Tabs. That is what I was trying to say last weekend (or was it the weekend before?)!

Unappreciate away by all means but dont unappreciate the result - it's very difficult to unappreciate rant away without giving some or all of the spoiler away.

Will be on a train when the results show airs so look forward to reading up later.

I've just caught up with the show on iplayer and my thoughts....

God help me, I liked Mark's Sambsalchamba better than Pixie's.
Thom didn't straighten his legs at all during his Chacha.
Judy's Charleston was dreadful. And yet still better than Scott's.
Sunetra's posture was all over the place but I still loved their routine.
No-one can do a head roll like Natalie- it looked all wrong with Kristina

Leader board- roughly right, but I would put Pixie below Jake but above Sunetra.
And Judy above Scott

I'd have even been tempted to put Judy above Alison on the leader board. And if there were a dance off between the two probably I'd save Judy. I can't see Alison improving on a dance if she were having to do it again.

Sorry Mimi I don't know how to create the box within a box quote to credit you appropriately.

Eveninī all.

Weighing in on the spoiler discussion as I saw it unfold lurking. An honest mistake was made, time for editing ran out and an apology was issued. It can happen to the best of us. Usually spoiler tags are used. No real harm done.

More importantly: Barndance. Why?

Aljaz as a swarthy, straw-chewing, kinda-like Jack Palance in Shane cowboy = strange sexual fantasy no.29 checked off.

Meanwhile, Darren Bennett with his lasso has really let himself go.
