Laurel is much better with Ashley. However I'd prefer Harriet and Ashley.

Oh boy..Are looking forward to the hypocritical strop of Marlon?
Where will they live? But then Marlon is in love with his dead wife, so its best to get away from that kind of mess. Hope April goes to live with Ross and DEbs |

Step away from the Laurel Ashley
![]() ![]() ![]() Put her down and get with Harriet you muppet! Although I want her to kick Moron to the kerb I DO NOT want her to get back with Ashley after the way she went on when he was at his lowest e.g. not letting him see the kids, not wanting to look for him when she found out he was homeless - I'll never forget her "I can't !" to Moron who, to give him his due, at least went out looking for Ashley but that b!tch didn't give a sh!t ![]() Ugh, the woman's abhorrent. |

With the wistful look Laurel gave Ashley last week when he came to apologise about being absent from the funeral - I can`t say I`m surprised.
Tell her to get stuffed Ashley. As lotty so rightly said, she didn`t give a damn about Ashley when he was at his lowest ebb....selfish cow., Ashley deserves so much better, and I truly believe that Harriet will be good for him - more than Laurel ever was. It`s my opinion that it was Laurel who caused Ashley to have a breakdown, and she used his abuse of his Dad for a reason to leave him. I`m not excusing Ashleys behaviour for one minute. But I can understand now how Ashley felt at the time. A busy job, caring for his parishioners, Laurel on the verge of leaving him, and on top of everything else....looking after his aged Father too. I doubt if Laurel could have coped as well. Sandy has forgiven him, and in the end that`s whats important. |

I'm actually glad, Laurel is far better with Ashley than what she is with Marlon

Yay! Laurel was one of my favourite characters but since she left Ashley she's been very unlikeable. I hope that reuniting with Ashley will turn her back into the old nicer Laurel. Maurel are one of the worst couples I've ever seen in a soap and I was so disappointed that Gabby couldn't manage to break them up. Fingers crossed that this will. Marlon interfered in Ashley's marriage so he has this coming. However, I'm dreading the scenes of Marlon moping and wallowing in self pity.

Poor old Laurel she reminds me of a slightly bonkers bag lady - hair all dishevelled, only she is still reasonably young.

I think it will be just what it says - Laurel making a drunken lunge at Ashley.
Sadly, I think he'll talk 'sense' into her, as will Paddy to Moron, and then the wedding will go ahead as planned. Just the usual last-minute wedding drama.

I said this on here last week. Its was bound to happen. and anything that splits up the perpetual whining, sanctimonious, nails on a blackboard, hoiler than thou maruel has to be good. Perhaps then they will retire to the background for a while and we will spared the nasal whinge of saint laurel and windy miller dingle.

Laurel was at her best with Ashley. She's just become an unlikeable bitch since they split.
Hope they do split and she gets back to where she belongs. |

The dreadful Marlon and Laurel deserve each other and the scriptwriters need to stop using Ashley to try to make their story lines more interesting. Surely no one wants to watch Ashley indulge Saint Laurel and listen to her whinging about Marlon the drip after the way she treated him? I admit that watching Ashley reject her would be amusing but not if he's still running around after her. The scriptwriters should stop focusing on Maurel and spend more time thinking of good story lines for Ashley and Harriet.

I don't really know what to make of this. Maurel are an awful couple, and Laurel has become seriously unlikeable, so splitting them up would be awesome. But, Laurel doesn't deserve Ashley, and I don't want to see him dragged down by her.
I guess ideally, Marlon needs to be alone; Laurel should also be alone; and Ashley should get with Harriet, just to see what they would be like as a couple. |

I would like to see Laurel and Ashley back together, with Gabby and Arthur as a family again; but where would they live? the house which they used as a vicarage has been let. I would hope they would not take in that nasty old man who is Ashley's father, who played a part in their marriage break-up. I wish Harriet would leave the show, I loathe the character. Not as much as I loathe Kerry, man, but nearly.

Once upon a time, I use to love the character of Laurel or what she use to be.
Her and Ashley were one of my favourite couples on ED for a good while and they WERE a well matched couple that brought out the best in each other. But then someone at ED who CLEARLY lost the plot decided for the most ridiculous of reasons to first have Laurel fall for Marlon when neither of them had ever shown the slightest interest in one another romantically or even as friends. And then it got bad when they decided that lovely, kind Ashley who would never hurt a fly would somehow now become this deceitful, cruel and unrecognisable man who would harm his father in horrible ways because of the pressures of his life and also that his wife had fell in love with another man so he was blaming it on his father. And then to top it off and make it even worse, Laurel in the end cheated on him and wanted out from their marriage once she discover what was happening with her father in law and Ashley. The sad part of this mess was that while it highlighted the issues regarding parents and their older children having to look after them in their old age and what can possible happen, the mistake for me was the characters that they used and the reasons behind it because really they broke up one of their most beloved couples at that time and now there really is no way back for them and I don't think even with this SL that that is what they are trying to do. Instead of them making us really hate Ashley, it turned a lot of us off Laurel and now for me she is a character that I am not bother about in the slightest and would not be upset if she was to leave (if that was the actress's choice of course). The jolly, happy smiley Laurel is no more and even more so now she is with Marlon. As for her and Marlon as a couple, they deserve to continue to stay together and have a hard and miserable life filled with all the issues that him being a Dingle brings. It's the least she deserves. As for Ashley who is far from a saint but for me will always be a better character in my eyes than those gruesome twosome, well I'd like to see him settle down with Harriet and go back to college/uni and study to get some training in some kind of counselling job. He is so much more than just working behind the bar in Diane's pub. Not say that there is anything wrong in working in a pub!! |

while I do think Ashley & Harriet will get together, I don't think it will be smooth sailing. I can see harriet either hearing about this or seeing it and she won't want to step on any toes so will back off...maybe.
