It was confirmed in March that 'Who Killed Lucy?' would be the biggest advertising campaign ever. But is it really? OK, so we've been given a fair few trailers, but much else?I don't know what I was expecting, but more than we've been given..

I'm not sure whether or not this is the 'biggest advertising campaign ever' or not, as I only started watching EastEnders religiously in 1997. If anyone has any knowledge of any advertising that I may have missed, or any upcoming then any response would be gratefully recieved.

Perhaps there is more to come from it? They may start advertising it again in the run-up to the reveal.

Edit: there was also a lot of physical advertising, especially around London in tube stations, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong), even on billboards, not to mention radio spots. So it was definitely bigger than just a few TV adverts.

Ah. I see. What do you mean by 'physical advertising'?

Physical as in 'you can see it and touch it in real life', not just internet/TV stuff.

It was plastered all over the London Underground at impressive speed. The Friday Lucy was killed I don't remember seeing anything on the tube whilst looking out for it, but on the Saturday there was a whole lot of material everywhere around the stations. There was an awful lot of radio promotion too, Radio 1 were putting 30 second spots in all over the place.

Oh, now you've said it I do remember hearing 30 second clips of peoples alibis, which are also available on the official EastEnders website.

It was pretty huge - they seemed to have all bases covered. Billboards, posters, moving images in train stations, different lengths of the TV trailers, radio trailers, loads of online stuff.

I reckon they will be a second wave of promotion next year.

I'm pretty sure dtc learnt a thing or too from the king of hype
- santer. I'm sure there is more hue to come and can guarantee a month before 30th a large segment of these forums will have fallen for it.

There is a huge 30th anniversary campaign being planned. So that should hit in mid/late January I would think.

I read on a broadcasting forum one of the trailers they have been creating pitches old characters against newer ones. So like when Angie met Linda type thing. Not sure how honest he was being but it sounded legit.

It was very big when it first happened but I've not seen anything around for weeks.

I was at Kings Cross station just after the murder episode and every character of the show popped up on individual advertising boards on the escalators with the tag line "There's a killer amongst them". It was pretty cool.

It was the biggest advertising campaign Eastenders has ever done, not the biggest campaign ever. In London it was pretty big when she died, especially on underground billboards and bus stop shelters
