Do you eat the pineapple core, throw it out or does it depend on the pineapple?

Eat it - get the fruit out with a pineapple cutter gadget and you are left with the core which I usually eat there and then.

I suppose you could slice it thin and have it in stir fries

Nibble away the soft bits, and then chuck.

I don't mind chewing it raw, it's not unlike chewing sugar cane.

But I like to use it in cooking. By the time you slice it up and simmer it in most kinds of sauce for rice, it becomes lovely, sweet and bitey bits in the sauce.
