They have 2 stand ins - Tom Parker and Gemma Merna. Why are they not using Gemma but brining back Mills?

I don't know why she skated over what happened, maybe Beth asked for some privacy?

Poor Beth!!
I interpreted your statements to mean she had a pre arranged appointment with a plastic surgeon, like lipo, a nose job or some other vanity surgery. I just googled Beth and was really shocked to realize that Davina was actually "down playing" what happened to Beth. I hadn't heard anything on the news. I just hope the she makes a full recovery, she was the one decent gymnast (male or female) for so many years and possibly the reason Britain is doing so well at that sport right now. ![]() Quote:
That's not good.
I would have expected with a show like this that safety and a duty of care towards the contestants was paramount. I wonder if the full reasons are given on the actual show or if they will try to cover their backs and be very careful about the details they reveal? |

This is like the Blue Peter of reality shows.
"Here's a jump he recorded earlier" "This is when they looked at The Jump earlier" "Here's footage of some snow that fell earlier" Dire, just dire! But if most of the action is recorded then they should be able to produce a show jam-packed with action, even in an hour and a half show. To use filler consisting of lots of talking is unforgivable if all the events are recorded anyway. |

I can understand why if something is live they would have to use filler as they set things up and get things and people into position inbetween events.

Nope, again did any of you actually watch the show?
Sarah won her second race, the race off and therefore did not have to jump off. I think the show was coherent enough but then I did actually watch it. Even when watching the show nothing is clear. It doesn't help when Davina gets bits wrong and sometimes doesn't speak using full words. She's good at pulling wacky faces and talking nonsense to the contestants, but she's no great shakes when it comes to the presenting department. |

The races were all live, only two of the jumps were not live.
What are you some PR person from the show? Because you seem to be overly defensive of the show which I think most people would admit is a bit of a shambles with long periods of nothingness going on inbetween. |

Not at all, however the criticism that the main action was pre recorded was inaccurate. This is pretty much the same as all the previous versions of the show, they can hardly show the training live. In fact the introduction of the event we saw tonight was added live action. It seems a bit of a waste to criticise the show about things that existed in previous versions. For example next week they will prerecord the slalom races, just like they did in the previous two years and show the jump off live if they can.
I have not defended the show in my previous posts, I have answered questions, that I could answer because I watched the show. Fair enough I appreciate it if you answer questions, but I don't think it's necessary to do so with such a condescending tone. If somebody asks an open question which you know the answer to, you just tell them 'it was that bit when...etc.'. You don't precede your answer with 'If anyone had actually bothered to watch the show...etc'. It just doesn't come across as friendly at all. |

Are these guys covered by an insurance policy in case of injury, Beths injury seems like a quality of life injury. Was Orla Jordan also seriously injured last year

it does seem somethings gone wrong because from night 1 on previous series the jump was being used. she denied it on Twitter but I wonder if a H&S issue or maybe insurance issue has forced them to cut down the amount of times the jump is used.
they have been billing it as longer series longer shows more "live" action ![]() I'd also guess that, in the absence of reserves (who will have been training with the others), they'll have to get previous contestants back because there's no time to train someone from scratch. I wonder what they'll do if anyone else is injured, though? If Linford really has pulled his hamstring, then I can see him having to pull out. Ditto Mark, and Sid's looking a bit dicey! |

It is frustrating when the answers were in the show. I apologise for my tone.
![]() I think for the most part people are just having fun mocking it. I suppose it feels like a more valid target because celebrities are getting perilously close to actually killing themselves. Which gives me the idea that this should be the show where they should put as many people from TOWIE and Geordie Shore on it as they possibly can. |

Has anyone got a list of the celebrities who have been injured, may be injured after the latest show, and those that are currently left unscathed?
I think even the new guy Tom Parker said that he felt a twinge in his knee in the last run he did as he came down the slope and won his last run. |

I`m wondering if these guys just turn up or do they do a few weeks of stretching and strengthening exercises. I bet most of these have not done a days graft in years

Lindford's joined them but not as serious, he hopes to be back
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...pull-Jump.html the thing is you can argue these were accidents waiting to happen, TV producers gradually upping the ante over the years with new, more risky formats. |

Tonight's show was the worst one by far from all three series. none of the races were competitions, just one participant in each could skate and the rest were walking / falling.
I guarantee this is the last series of The Jump, not for safety reasons, but for morons like that Westlife muppet and the obese guy from Towie, they were not even trying. |

Weren't the previous series of the show completed in 1 week or so? How are they managing to do this over a 6 week period with 1 episode per week?
Is any of this actually live or is it all live-to-tape? I'm not really seeing any segments that I trust as truly live. I seem to recall they used to do the recorded events in the daytime and the jumps live at night previously. |
