Weren't the previous series of the show completed in 1 week or so? How are they managing to do this over a 6 week period with 1 episode per week?

Is any of this actually live or is it all live-to-tape? I'm not really seeing any segments that I trust as truly live. I seem to recall they used to do the recorded events in the daytime and the jumps live at night previously.
You aren't really paying attention are you?

It was clearly stated that all the races were live, and 2 of the 4 jumps were live.

Thank you for your diligent 100% focus. And no, I would never pay full attention to this as there seems to be an increasing amount of added drivel between the 10 mins of actual content in a 1.5 hour block.

I agree. The weekly format isn't working for me either.

And the jumping isnt drivel either? Certainly that "sliding down a hill" billed as snow cross race was. It seems to be jinxed. Three out to injury now - Watching celebs playing in the snow format isn't for me. Have given it a chance and I find it dull.

Barry Davies who's doing some of the commentary is 78. I remember him commentating on football matches from the late 60s....
How the mighty have fallen.
Crikey don't feel sorry for him. When you eventually retire and get the opportunity to be paid for popping over to a ski resort, commentate on some nonsense for 10 minutes and spend the rest of the time wallowing in a spa you'd snap their hands off!!!!

I heard they're going to change the programme title to "I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me To Casualty".

Channel 4 could get a few episodes of 24 Hours A&E out of this.

I'm wondering if this could be one of those series that gets the brutal chop halfway through the intended run of shows. It would have proved better (relatively speaking) as many have mentioned if it had run its course over 7 or 8 nights of the week, or even as a one night show lasting a couple of hours. This 6 shows separated by a week is like pulling teeth without an anaesthetic or very slowly and painfully pulling off a wax strip to remove the hairs. Agonising!

At what point did Lynford pull his hamstring? Surely he had an air jump from practice that could have been thrown into the mix at the end? It seems unfair that he gets an automatic bye to next week (and may not even be fit enough then), but Arg had to leave even though he'd given it a go. OK, so it was fairly woeful and I'm no fan, but just seems a bit unfair. They may regret getting rid of an uninjured one at this rate....

The clue might be in the fact that one is an Olympic gold medallist at the 100 metres and the other is nothing more than a reality show non-entity. How cynical of me, eh.

This godawful show needs to be out of its misery. It's ridiculous to expect these z listers to be able to do these sports properly after only a few weeks!!!

The show isn't working with all these casualties. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last

I suppose they may bring Louisa or Arg back to replace an injured contestant?

It's coming to something when not only are they bigging up the return of a former participant from a previous year at the end of the show last night, but that person just happens to be one of the most disliked people (rightly or wrongly as that may be) in the country in recent years.

Davina and that bunch out there may well be having some good fun themselves in the snow and ice plus getting a nice pay cheque but what translates to the screen for us watching, surely the important bit, is pitifully thin fare equivalent to being bored witless by having to watch someone's winter holiday video.

And if taking a week off to recover is allowed, why doesn't Rebecca Adlington make a come back next week? Surely a dislocated shoulder just needs a little rest and recuperation?

Depends on whether or not any ligaments or muscles were damaged. If the shoulder gets damaged again before it is fully healed, there is the risk of permanent damage with consequent lifelong pain and restricted movement. not a chance I would wish to take

Its dreadful. Looks like a big celeb jolly in the snow and with pay
Watching some of these "contestants" it looks like half of them are hungover during the events and practice. No wonder there are injuries

I'm guessing they probably thought that going weekly meant that the zelebs had more opportunity to train for specific events and avoid injury.

I can't believe that the trainer let Tina go when there was obviously someone in the way or close by.

She can only go by what she's told. BBC were reporting "routine surgery on her back" on the sports news yesterday on 5 Live

The show needs the axe. What's gonna happen next? Someone dying live on air?

Think this injury really will be a wakeup call now.
no show is worth what could have happened spinal injuries we know how life changing they can be.

Yes it seems to be a very silly idea to allow somebody who is injured a free pass when somebody who isn't injured simply has the luxury of competing and getting eliminated.
Because Linford may be out for good and they would have lost somebody who wasn't injured.

If Linford has to pull out then the ridiculous situation may arise where Arg comes back in to replace Linford.

And as you made reference to, somebody else who got injured on the day had an air jump recorded earlier to use for the elimination jump, where Linford was just given a bye to the next round. Which leads me to suspect that some of this is made up as they go along depending on what happens in the moment.
