On paper, The Jump is a good idea, but I personally feel that any contestant, should have skiing experience to begin with. I am not sure if anyone has.
Anyone taking part in any sport has to start somewhere and the celebs are almost certainly in safer hands on a format like The Jump than they would be if they were taking up the sports independently, and the pressure to do well is only coming from themselves. Injuries happen in sport - people have to get over that. Yes, some of these injuries have been very concerning and it is right that as anyone with an ounce of responsibility would do that all procedures are reviewed. |

And then like anyone who has ever danced appearing on Strictly they'll just be caused "cheats".

Take the event on Sunday for example where they were skating? down that course. They could barely stay up right for more than 10 seconds without falling over. Was it because they were rushing down the course and making mistakes as a result or was it because they simply hadn't had enough hours of practice to reasonably make it down in one piece? I tune out when it's on for the most part so I admit I've not paid attention to what training they've had.. but I suspect it's not been enough. |

Disagree they'd be called cheats because it would be a level playing field. Everyone would have enough experience with pre-filming training hours to handle what is being asked of them.

I wonder if that's why Mills is coming back? get a few from other series ones they know the ropes to help stabilise the situation and actually get some jumps in the show |

If this is the case why the hell did they sign? seriously if it was 6 weeks lying on a sandy beach you could understand it. That's one hell of a clause (if this story is correct). |

Not too unusual though - you do these things at your own risk. Plus they're celebrities on a reality show - in most cases probably not much earnings to cover!

Beth''s injury is terrible, I had no idea how bad it was, I met her once and she was absolutely lovely, chatting and drinking with me and my cousin for about half an hour- Really hope she gets better soon.
The show really can't go on liken this though and the ratings aren't so fabulously fantastic Channel 4 couldn't just quietly rest it- I'd probably bring the run short a little and bring it to a close, it's fairly obvious they'really at panic stations due to what's coming across on screen anyway |

I think if series 4 goes ahead next year (which I think it will if Tina Hobley's being invited back like Davina said) they should put it back to nightly so then it gives the celebs less time to hurt themselves

She's not wrong, tbh, although I'm sure there are people who watch this show just for the damage that can be wrought, just as I'm sure there are people who get excited and entertained by crashes in F1.However, I'd much rather I wasn't waking up in the morning of late worrying that someone (even a z-lister) has ended up with an horrific injury just for a TV show. I've seen enough of those over the years in professional sport. |

after enjoying last year's series i was looking forward to this year's until i found out it was only airing once a week, the lack of a live show every night and the buzz it drew just died for me.
changing the format and the jumps were totally unnecessary imo. as the saying goes 'why change what isn't broken', unfortunately the show is not the only thing broken this year. really hope i don't read any more stories of injuries and that those who have been injured make a quick recovery. |

Her response? She doesn't know, shell see what her family think first. Which doesn't sound like a vote of confidence. |

I just heard on the national news that Beth has just started trying to take her first steps.
Christ, I didn't know it was that bad. It sounds like she has to learn to walk again with the help of physiotherapy. What did Davina say again, 'a routine operation'? What celebrities in their right mind would sign up for this show next year? How high must their fee for appearing be when they weigh up the risk of accepting that fee against having their quality of life put at serious risk. |

correct. But since there has been that invite I would assume it is returning next year and if so it needs to go back to being shown nightly so there is less time for the celebs to hut themselves and less chance of as many injuries I think
