But they knew what they had been told, they hadn't made anything up. They had been told Beth was having a routine operation, which is the same line that had been used that day in all the media reports of Beth's injury. Mark had just had his crash and the on site medics probably told them it was a sprain. They reported the information they had at the time, if they had said they didn't know people would be complaining that they hadn't said anything when they must have known something. They can't win.

Drafting people in who haven't even had a days training when almost at show 3 of a 6 show series shows what a state this series is in! Joe Swash will be a complete waste of time on it as well, hes' only there to get his 'cheekie chappie' persona on the TV.

I imagine Davina won't bother mentioning people being invited back for next year this week as there's about 0 chance of this show being back next year!

Given that several people have already had quite serious injuries, what an utterly inappropriate and unpleasant comment

Well this new format is working well.
From what Dean said on This morning some are skipping training so really why are producers allowing them to remain on the show? does this mean they will keep using the air jump fearful of anything else.

think that's why the nightly show worked better they had to remain focused 6 weeks out on the piss on the piste staying in a 5 star hotel, And they wonder why training isn't top priority ?

Interesting and totally believable from what we have seen so far. Who is Dean?

No surprise that the answer to the question "Who'd be stupid enough to sign up for The Jump" is Joe Swash. No surprise there.

We do not know the circumstances that causes Beth's injury and it does sound very serious and as someone said potentially life changing. Freak accidents happen in life and we know Beth was by far one of the most athletically capable of the competitors. I think what people are really pissed off about is how it was just passed off as something minor on Sunday night when it clearly wasn't - Davina's message basically sounded like "Please don't sue us!"

The people in charge can't end the show mid-run because to end the show is to admit that it was dangerous and misguided.

So as long as they pretend it's fine, they are safe.

The change to a weekly format was probably a mistake. Somehow it's changed the mental focus of the contestants.

Not all but some of them you can imagine getting knackered on the slopes for 5 hrs a day training or just messing about in a posh resort eating and drinking (all paid).
Might explain why Mills is being brought back you can just see her now barking at the slackers.

if its air jumps again sunday I doubt the other jump will be used this series
maybe they will just use the H&S excuse as the reason.

In one of the reports Eddie the Eagle Edwards said that some of them would have one or two goes at something, and then go off and have a coffee or something.

There should be people there laying the law down to the celebrities.

Looking forward to this weekends event - building a snowman.

Actually I'd probably better copyright "Celebrity Snowman Building" before it becomes a reality!

I waskind of the same, watching attention seekers going down on their arse was kind of funny. But then I watched the footage of Rebecca and it is one of the most upsetting things ever. She's a nice girl, probably did it for the challenge and the sight of her in so much distress upset me and I turned it over. Wont be watching again.

So an obese member of TOWIE and a Beetle-mugging pirate are what we are looking forward to this week.

Please Channel 4, pull this shameful tabloid tat from your schedule before Sunday.
