They need to lose the Air Jump if it comes back again.
Fair enough have the massive ski jump as an option but I miss the proper excitement of even the smaller ski jump. Will they land it? With the air jump, there is so little skill involved it's so boring. Very poor decision making by the producers this year. |

Mills is vile, there are no redeeming features
For all the reasons people don't like her, I'll give her one good thing...she's competitive and is taking the series seriously as a competition. That right now is probably the most important trait needed in anybody who comes into this show. |

LOL who's booing Heather? Did anyone else hear that?
![]() No, joking aside I have no problem with Heather Mills in this. She may not be my favourite person but as far as this show goes compared to others in there I think she's got the right attitude, and she is quite capable. |

If Arg goes out again tonight and five more people pull out will be come back again? Maybe he'll win it.
I don't really mind him as a person but I hate TV shows trying to tell me what I'm thinking. Davina is one of the very worst for this. She assumes that what she thinks is the same as what all the viewers think. |

So instead of just being honest with people the actual jump isn't going to be used
they will just keep dragging this out. Davina said this new format would mean more exciting live events. its just more waffle from the bar (noticed they have reduced the glass sizes? ) 25 minutes is actually the entire length of most TV programmes. Here we got 25 minutes of waffle at the bar right at the start. |

It always tickles me how rugby players are classed differently to footballers.
nearly all of them would screw anything with a pulse but for some reason they don't get the bad press/reputation footballers do.. |

That was funny. Cohen thinking he's best known for his rugby. No mate. Best known for shagging Rhianoff.
Because that's how just about all these celebrities introduce themselves with their intro VTs. A celebrity who we all know wouldn't have to explain who they are to us, we'd just know. It's like bad impressionists who have to tell us who they're doing an impression of just before they do it. |

This jump that she keeps gibbering on about sounds spectacular. I bet it's about 100 feet high. I can't wait to see it,its going to be awesome.
3 shows out of 6 so far and we haven't seen it being used. In the previous 2 series did they leave it for so long until the jump was used? And even if it does get used in the final I can see them saying that the weather is too bad to perform it live so we'll show you some jumps that we prepared earlier. |

Adverse weather conditions it's winter.
In winter sports I'd have thought that 'hot and sunny' would be 'Adverse weather conditions'. |

It would be more honest for the show if they just said owing to H&S they aren't using the main jump this series. I seriously don't know how Davina can keep a straight face
Which is a swindle because the jump is the main draw and what the title of the programme is named after. If that weather was too bad for the air jump then what are the chances that the weather will ever be right for the main jump? Actually looking at how things are laid out, where's the little jump? In the previous two series they had a little jump and the main jump. Weren't celebrities using the little jump right up until the final day in the previous series? What's going on? Why is no explanation provided as to why even a little jump isn't being used? |

Its getting ripped to shreds on Twitter
exactly what people are saying on here. Last year really was such an improvement how the hell they can still suggest this weekly format means more live events (which they stated) and more excitement Davina's own words when I tweeted her Davina McCall @ThisisDavina · Jan 26 @atj00007 nope... More live events X ! Even more excitement! From there they can build on that. Only they can't if it doesn't come back again anyway. |

BIB The most serious injuries have happened to sports people (Beth & Rebecca) and I wonder if being very competitive has contributed to their injuries - trying that bit too hard to achieve good results.......
The ones who have been taking it less seriously (who have previously been accused of 'messing about') have not been trying quite so hard and (up to a point) keeping themselves safe - or rather safer! It appears that the message being sent out is that you don't have to worry about health and safety with Winter sports. Just mess about and have a laugh, and you'll be fine. And strangely enough it actually seems to be the case. |

Joe Swash has sustained what has been widely reported as a serious shoulder injury. Well even if it is only a more minor injury why the hell was he even taking part in the skiing and then the jump tonight? What kind of person does such things when injured, even slightly? More to the point what kind of people are behind the scenes on this show allowing it to happen? It defies belief, allowing injured people to compete and very possibly make things far worse, rather than allow proper recovery time.
Then I noticed when he was actually doing the air jump he had his right arm slightly tucked into his body. It looked very awkward indeed. If he's carrying on with training and events will that allow his shoulder to get better or risk making it worse. In fact did Davina even mention that Joe had picked up a shoulder injury? I don't recall her mentioning that, but I apologise in advance if I missed it. I'm thinking how can he carry on with things like The Moguls where he's very likely to fall when training for it? Because obviously if he falls, especially on his right hand side, he's going to need to stick his arm out to break his fall. After all that's partly what arms are for. |

I am sure they had the air jump sometimes last year as well?
And was last year the same as the first when the participants had the choice of opting for either the small jump or the big jump? I'd appreciate it if you or anyone else can jog my memory on that. |

If there is a next series of The Jump they may as well re-title it and call it "You might know me best for...."

You're right. I do remember it making an appearance. Was it for only one week though?

I've turned this rubbish off.
Last years was a great improvement over the previous year and was really enjoyable. This year it's just dire. The format is completely wrong with all this weekly nonsense and the snow will have surely melted by the time we get down to any sort of final. With all these "celebs" when is it due to finish ? July ? The nightly format was much MUCH better. The length of the program is just too much to take. 90 minutes ! Of which 20 minutes are adverts, 69 minutes of inane filling and 1 minute of actual action. Talk about spreading it a bit thin ! Now, about these accidents and injuries. The law of probabilities cannot be ignored. I've skied for many years but it is a fact that the more I ski the more accidents I have and I think the same is true for these "celebs" . The more they train for an event and the more times they try an event the probability of being injured doing it increases. In the old weekly format there would statistically be less injuries due to the LACK of training. Just look at the skeleton, go down the run a couple of times and the chances are, with minimal training, you're going to come out OK. Do it 20 times and the chances are you're not going to be so lucky ! |

I didn't see last nights episode but have they definitely confirmed the two smaller jumps have gone? We did see the contestants practising on it, it was the smaller jump that Tina was on when she fell. Davina said last week "some have gone off the big jump" which implies smaller jumps exist.

The air jump was used a couple of times last year, but they had 3 different height proper ski jumps that were used more than the air jump. The contestants could pick which height jump they used. I don't think any of them ever picked the largest one, but the middle one was used a few times.
Looking at this year's contestants, I can see why they are sticking with the air jump, but it does make the show even more of a farce. |
