So if the jumps into the airbag were filmed earlier and then showm on the live show, why did they not use the big jumps when conditions were good and film those instead so that we could view that?
I don't get the airbag jump! Seems like dive bombing into the water at the swimming pool and I have absolutley no idea whose jump is better than others. |

Didn't Louise Hazell use the biggest jump in the final last year? Did a good landing but then the two guys went off the middle jump and went further.
I was just thinking yesterday that if they brought anyone back I wish it was Louise Hazel rather than Heather Mills. She was great. Her bravery in the final wasn't rewarded. On that day fortune favoured the meek. |

It would help if the camera work was consistent. In some jumps you get to see a direct side-on view where you can see the lit measuring vertical line and how high the jumper gets. But most of the time it shows it from a different angle so you can't see it side-on and therefore can't get an idea of how high they went compared to who went before. At the point where they cross that measuring line that's the crucial moment when we want to see the side-on view. |

I noticed that on last night's show it took 25 minutes from the start until we actually got to the action.
25 minutes is actually the entire length of most TV programmes. Here we got 25 minutes of waffle at the bar right at the start. |

It's just not that great a show.
An hour and a half is too long for what actually happens in it. There's far too much filler. Plus two out of the three weeks, the live jump off has not even been live - it's just jumps they did earlier. Then we have the ever changing cast of celebrities, depending on who's had to withdraw and who they've got in to replace them. I think Arg might have set some sort of record for a reality show - being eliminated, brought back, and then eliminated again, all in the space of eight days. If somebody else gets injured and has to withdraw this week, I wouldn't rule out him returning again and going for the hat trick. Also the big jump, will it ever be used? They gave it a big build up in show two, showing all the celebs on it, but not actually using it in the live competition. You would naturally assume that it would have been used last night, but it wasn't, in fact I'm not even sure it was mentioned, although I did miss the first twenty minutes. They almost seem to be pretending it isn't there now, which is a bit daft, when you can see it all lit up in the wide shots when they're doing the runs on the ski course next to it. It's entirely possible that the big jump may never be used at all, which would kind of defeat the purpose of the entire show - it is called The Jump after all. Perhaps they think the big jump is too dangerous to use, but it's too late to remodel the course and go back to smaller jumps as they had in previous years. I think Channel Four will be crossing their fingers that there are no more serious injuries in this in the remaining three weeks, and then I doubt it will be seen again. |

What an utter joke of a show this is. There's once saving grace, at least it'll never return!

I think Channel Four will be crossing their fingers that there are no more serious injuries in this in the remaining three weeks, and then I doubt it will be seen again. There are 9 contestants in it. 5 withdrawals due to injury Tina Hobley Rebecca Adlington Beth Tweddle Mark-Francis Vandelli Linford Christie 4 replacements Tom Parker Heather Mills Joe Swash Ben Cohen 5 original contestants Brian McFadden Dean Cain Sarah Harding Sid Owen Tamara Beckwith 2 genuine eliminations Louisa Lytton James "Arg" Argent Arg is an original contestant but he was also used as a replacement for Linford Christie, which is unbelievably stupid when you consider that the week before Linford was injured and the show felt that if he was rested he'd be okay. In that same week Arg was eliminated and Linford given a pass to the next round. But in the next round Linford was withdrawn due his injury which didn't get better anyway and as a consequence Arg brought back again. Crazy I know. ![]() ![]() As there's 9 left in it, 5 who have been injured, and 4 replacements, that means that we're one man/woman short. That person was probably Zara Holland who was due to come in but who show producers felt wasn't equipped enough to cope with the competition. So, we have the problem of being one man down in week 3 of 6. Either the show will have to reorganise their plans for the next 3 weeks and change the schedule in some way, or it will have to finish a week early, or another replacement needs to be brought in. If we are to believe that Zara Holland wasn't deemed able enough because she was drafted in as a quick replacement as there were no more stand-ins, then this might suggest that Arg may be back yet again to fill in for that missing spot. ![]() Or if not Arg, then Louisa. As these are the only two spare people available out there who have had the training. There are no more stand-ins so what else can they do? 3 weeks left. If anyone else gets injured then the show is on the verge of having big problems. As there have been 5 injuries in 3 weeks out of 6, then what are the chances of the remaining contestants getting to the final week unscathed? |

I don't think there will be many who genuinely want anyone else to get hurt, but I suspect that with a lot of people there is an excitement to the show in respect to what the show does if any more people do happen to get injured.
What do you do? Joe Swash is already on the precipice with a shoulder injury. If this show doesn't come back for another series it will probably be more because of the serious problems it might have to keep it going next time around and the headaches it will give them panicking to try to resolve these problems. Because now in this series it has been shown what can happen, and what could happen again, and maybe even worse next time. When you get this many injuries in this third series you can't say that it's unlikely to happen again. It's almost like an experiment in probability. They might have been extremely lucky in the first two series and this series is where they're finding the level of how many injuries are likely to happen normally. As a previous poster already mentioned before I did, it's probably like a situation where you roll the dice enough times and eventually you start to lose. Keep throwing people down the skeleton enough times and although you might be fine for the first few goes lady luck will eventually bail out on you. |

Can someone PLEASE make sure that Joe Swash gets so badly injured over there he is unable to appear on any other TV shows for the rest of eternity, or better yet, when they pack everything up, just l;eave him there so we don't have to suffer him any more. Awful, awful annoying man.

Wishing someone a serious injury because you dont like them is well over the top, just switch over. |

They should be fishing around the Made in Chelsea/Socialite scene if they're looking for more replacements, they could at least ski. Also I'm assuming they randomly flew Lady V out even though they didn't bring her back, so did C4 literally just fly her out to provide filler chat with Davina and "support" Tamara. I highly doubt she voluntarily showed up.

I kind of enjoyed this rubbish show when it was daily. Weekly and all the advert breaks just isn't working. Especially as they haven't even done the jump yet!
How on earth does this make money? I assumed the first show was a loss leader for a bit of w Olympics hype, but No c4 didn't show them. |

Yeah I don't think somehow I like the contestants as much this year. Enjoyed Ben Tom and Heather and their my faves, I was surprised that Ben fell though in the event. Was it the fact they both fell or was it that they both missed the gate that got them disqualified with Joe and Ben?

It was missing the gate, in theory they could have got up and walked back up to the gate and completed the course then at least only one of them would have had to jump (the one that took the longest to do this) but I guess they didn't realise that the other had also missed a gate.
Davina actually encouraged Ben to come to the line....which was ultimately the very thing which got him disqualified. ![]() If she had told him to just get up and walk around the gate she might have been helping. But instead her interference helped to disqualify him. She seemed to want to get involved and make it about her. Really she shouldn't have interfered at all and kept her beak out. After what happened with Tina the last thing Davina should have been doing is walking into the competition area. What happened with this review of safety procedures? Either one of those two contestants could have got back up and skied right into her. |

I'm really enjoying The Jump, I have never seen Joe Swash before and he is hilarious, especially with Ben. All good fun. I did wonder if they cheated with Joe's jump. It looked lower than Arg's but they may have cheated to keep him in and send Arg home again as Arg had already been eliminated once.

So in answer to the questions about the three ski jumps I had a look at the channel four website and it says that the contestants will have the choice of three different sized slopes. Therefore it looks like to me that all three are available (if they ever use them) which should put some minds at rest. (Although the article appears to suggest something different would happen show three and six, perhaps that was supposed to be the only times they used the jump in to a bouncy castle)
