Hands up anyone who pops into this thread during the week when they see a new post to see if anyone has been injured?

Puts up hand!

I haven't actually bothered to watch the show since the first shambles. To be honest I have no idea who most of the people who are in the show now, are.

This series is a train wreck in slow motion.

being totally honest I even forgot it was on last weekend.
If it does come back I really hope they just make it nightly it simply isn't good enough to be stretched over weeks.

Sorry. I don't tend to link to articles on the Digital Spy front page. I'll try and do so from now on as I rarely check it since the revamp.

It's okay, somebody posted a link above.

Well does that mess things up for the final if they have no more replacement stand-ins?

They started with 14 didn't they?
One more injury and that's half of the contestants injured.

Can you imagine celebrities signing up for the show next year?
They'll ask how safe it is, and they'll have to be told that this year half of the cast got injured, so there's a 50/50 chance that they'll be injured too.

Next year they'll not only build a ski jump, they'll also reveal a conveyor belt they've built which will be connected to the TOWIE studios, on which there'll be a steady supply of celebs traveling along it for the inevitable slaughter, with a fleet of ambulances parked next to the slopes on standby with their engines revved up and ready to go, as by then they will have perfected the most efficient injury inflicting machine in television history. It'll be like one of those mechanical mincing machines into which you feed a steady supply of meat which comes out of the other end as mince.

Who in their right mind would sign up for this knowing that there's a 50/50 chance of getting injured?

I think there's only one way to save this show.

Redo the premise and have the next version be that a celeb only learns ONE winter sport. A single one.

They can still represent multiple sports with different celebs. Have lets say... 4 celebs for each sport all in competition with each other and yes, some alternates (taken from the other celebs--thus yes, perhaps each celeb is actually learning two sports, not one, but that's still a tiny and thus much safer number than the huge number they're dealing with now and the second sport they'll only do competitively anyway if people drop out).

Do each sport every other week--giving them twice as long to train. Do two sports per episode, so four in total.

There is no overall winner. It's just exhibition of each sport in turn and perhaps a charity cash prize for each round's win (and a bigger prize at the end for the celeb with the best placing/rank overall).

Not sure what you do about the show title. Clearly Ski Jumping could be one of the sports, but it would seem silly to name the whole show after it if they didn't all do it.

Sorry but that sounds pretty boring! One of the (many) problems this year is the total lack of excitement in the show. Quite a few contestants have still to do the big jump and opt for the air jump instead - there seems to be a distinct lack of bravado on display this year.

Apart from that, as previously said, there is no build-up to the show when it is on weekly. Nightly shows over a shorter period of time made for a better show and given that the contestants now have extra time to practise this year, the results are not encouraging!

A rethink is definitely advisiable, though. I have enjoyed watching the show until this year.

Yep me

I really lost interest the week they had what looked like a snow version of racing wearing those "wheelie trainers" that kids used to have.

Then briefly channel hopped a week later to see a bit of the ski slalom, a proper event. Except again it became blindingly obvious none of the contestants could be bothered to put in the training so that was me out for good. Its hard to maintain interest in something when the competitors really couldnt give a toss.

She did look very disappointed not to be eliminated in the jump off last week. I suspected she wanted to go home.

I hope she isn't pulling a sickie, but on the other hand I wouldn't wish a serious injury on anyone.

He looks at best 45-46. Just because the average person in the uk is obese and awful skin makes anyone in decent shape look better.
