With the rising star of Mimi Keene, return of Lacey Turner and resurgent Shona McGarty
Who is likely to be edged out or squuezed for storylines amongst the younger female cast in the next few years?
For me I think the inevitable squeeze is likely to hurt /effect the most Jacqueline Jossa and Natalie Cassidy I think Maddie Hill as Nancy is seen as a rising star and good bet for the future and I think theres already hints we will see more of her storyline wise. I think they have slow burn plans for Rakhar as Shabnam,I do sense they have a story for her moreso than with Sonia. I think tpth highly value Danielle Harold very highly as an unloud valuable reliable gem who has a future as part of the Mitchell dynamic playing Lola. I think were starting to see Shina McGarty given more airtime and storylines consisently. Lacey Turners status is established and I think Mimi Keene is tptb investment and hope for the future. |

Perhaps I worded this badly .
When I say squeezed for storylines I mean who will be squeezed OUT-IE Who will struggle for storylines. |

If people are understanding the wording and intention behind my poll question correctly LOL then I definitely dont agree with the votes that Danielle Harold will be squeezed for storylines.Quite the opposite,I think their building her to be a long time significant "stayer" on the show and Bens return will surely give her a storyline.

Shabnam and Nancy are long overdue proper storylines of their own.

I think Stacey, Nancy, Cindy and (apart from Jacqueline's pregnancy) Lauren are in the strongest positions of those females. Nancy, Cindy and Lauren are involved in big family dramas already. And we'd be stupid to think that Stacey's next big storyline isn't right around the corner.
I also have the feeling that Shabnam will be rising through the ranks again soon. Whitney, Lola and Sonia will always have big involvement, but I don't forsee them leading big stories in the way that someone like Stacey inevitably will. |

I'm also not the only person who asked?
So because I don't think a 30 year old woman is on a similar age level to women in their early 20's makes me disrespectful to you? Right then |

IMatt1 I explained my reasoning early on in the thread.Im using the broadest meaning of the word younger as I feel they all likely to be jostling for space and storylines with each other when it comes to storyline conference/meeting time .It is what it is.Its not about me thinking a 30 year old is exactly the same as a teenager.
To my mind early 30s is young. |

Interesting thread. I'd say this is really indicative of how strong the young female cast actually is. They have some that have been huge characters for the show in Stacey and to a lesser extent Lauren, some talented actresses that have been there a long time but taken more of a backseat role (Lola & Whitney), and some untapped but incredibly promising talent for the future with Cindy and Nancy.
I'd say we'll look back on this era as one of the best young female casts Eastenders has ever had. |

I see Mimi as potentially combining the talent of Lacey and the glamorous goodlooks of Jacqueline Jossa. |

Hopefully we have a producer that doesn't just focus on his favourites to the detriment of everyone else (Birkwood ), but spreads storylines fairly evenly among an incredibly strong young female cast. I think Nancy has been dreadfully underused, but with the abundance of Carter plot threads thats probably for the best.On a tangent, what does need some work IMO is the young male cast. I wish they'd axe Dexter and Fatboy and bring in someone interesting and new. |

Probably, but that's always been the way. I'm a huge Mimi fan and think she has a lot more to give. Definitely one to watch for the future.

I think even an EP whos more balanced in his stewardship would struggle not to sideline somebody with Lacey and Mimi on their cast and so many other females begging the writers to fulfill and unleash their characters potential. |

Jacqueline Jossa, because the rest on the list just show up how poor a performer she actually is. Even Natalie Cassidy. They have a very capable young female cast at the minute and she and her on-screen sister are the weak links and have been rendered completely redundant by the upsurge of talent amongst their peers.
