5 Live - Tennis - ATP London, Queens Club

The Final - Murray v Anderson

Hosted by Jonathan Overend (5 Live) and Sara Orchard (Sports Extra)

Commentary from Russell Fuller with Miles MacLagen and Dominic Inglot

Also on commentary duty this week with Russell and Sara have been Alastair Eykyn and Alistair Bruce- Ball. Additional summarisers were Colin Fleming and Leon Smith.

5 Live - Golf - US Open

Commentary from Iain Carter, Chris Jones and Jay Townsend.”

No nothing that I know of to suggest Alan Green won't be in Rio although apparently he signed a 2 year contract after the last world cup so maybe they just want some options in case he isn't on the station then. I can't see John Murray doing the rowing now if the Olympics are not in mind at some point in the future?

I could see Alan thinking London was the perfect place to bow out of the sport, he doesn't cover the rowing world championships any more and has dropped all other sports.

On the golf I do like Chris Jones but was surprised that Conor McNamara wasn't used as he isn't doing anything else this summer apart from the Open. I hope Chris Jones will be part of the Open commentary team though.

Thanks for that, I had missed Sam and Melinda off the list I had drawn up. 8 commentators for day 3 and 4 does seem a lot. I wander how many of the commentators were paid. I'm guessing that Lzzy, Sam, Jarrod and Melinda were the unpaid members.

John Brickley (early game) and Kevin Winter (later game) presented Baseball Tonight from Bristol, Connecticut

Major League Baseball: National League
San Francisco Giants @ Washington Nationals - Adam Amin and Jim Bowden (6pm ET commentary)
New York Mets @ Los Angeles Dodgers - Roxy Bernstein and Chris Singleton (10pm ET commentary)

The reason ESPN Radio had an MLB double header on Friday night was due to it being Independence Day weekend, however with the 4th July falling on a Saturday this year they had their usual Saturday Game of the Week and Sunday Night Baseball over the weekend. Kevin Winter presented Baseball Tonight on both nights, with Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton commentating on Mets @ Dodgers on Saturday night and Adam Amin and Jim Bowden commentating on Giants @ Nationals on Sunday night.

I'm not entirely sure if that's the whole team used for the entire four days of the match - only a limited amount of day three coverage was taken by BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra due to the Formula 1 practice and T20 Blast coverage, while 5LSE didn't carry any of the final day due to Wimbledon coverage taking priority with F1 qualifying on Radio 5 Live. I know Dan Norcross was only involved in the first day and that most of the Australian voices were there throughout - I'm not sure which of the BBC Essex regulars were called upon on days three and four though.

*The only commentary team I'm unsure of this week is the game I listened to the most - and the one Connor was watching, hence me stepping in for him. Messers Eakin, Britt, Callaghan and Howells were on duty for all four days I think, although Brian Halford was credited at the end of the match as only doing a few spells. I think he only covered the fourth day, given he only tweeted about the match yesterday.

Going by his Twitter, Kevin Howells was at Chesterfield to update BBC Radio 5 Live and TMS on the final day of Derbyshire v Glamorgan today - although he wasn't credited as being part of the BBC Sport commentary team there at the end of their coverage.

Simon Brotherton and Rob Hayles are covering the Tour De France for the BBC. Their commentary can be heard on 5 Live Sports Extra, except on days when Test Match Special is broadcast. On those days, their commentary is live on the BBC Sport website. 5 Live broadcasts some of the podcast the duo present during 5 Live Sport.

Thanks Shaun for the wimbledon details for 5Live. i've been enjoying Live at Wimbledon radio a lot this year, the coverage has been excellent. the dedicated centre court and No 1 court commentary feeds are particularly good. I'll try and post details for commentary for the women's and men's finals after the men's final tomorrow unless anyone else has been compiling something.

I’ve decided to post the Live at Wimbledon radio commentary details for the women’s final today instead of holding on to them all until tomorrow as they used such a big team for it that I don’t want one hugely long post for both finals…

Live at Wimbledon Radio presented by Marcus Buckland live from centre court joined at various points before, during and after the final by Barry Cowan, Judy Dalton, Wayne Ferreira and Jill Craybas.

Ladies final: Williams v Muguruza.
Commentary from Barry Millns and Jill Craybas (first set) with Philip Studd and Lucie Ahl (second set). The commentary also went out uninterrupted on the Live at Centre Court radio service.
Before the match, Marcus was joined by Barry Cowan and Judy Dalton. Cowan was replaced by Ferreira when the match got underway and stayed for the 2 sets it lasted with Dalton being replaced by Craybas at the end of her commentary stint for the second set. The studio team provided analysis in between games with Buckland providing the odd bit of commentary if a discussion was still in progress at the start of a game before switching back to the commentary team.
Sonja McLaughlan and Faye Carruthers were out and about around the grounds and on the hill speaking to the fans.

Ladies Final - S Williams v Muguruzu

Hosted by Eleanor Oldroyd

Commentary from Russell Fuller and Alison Mitchell with Pat Cash and Miles MacLagen.

Miles was very much a secondary summariser, contributing only at the change-of-ends.

Mens Doubles Final - Murray/Peers v Rojer/Tecau

Partial commentary from David Law and Russell Fuller with Jeremy Bates and Mark Woodforde

They broke away from commentary after the first set to cover and get reaction to the Test match but came back for the finish.

Over on the World Service Lee James hosted the Ladies Final with commentary from Chris Dennis and Selina Sfar with Caroline Barker reporting from the hill.

Wimbledon men’s final: Djokovic v Federer:
Live at Wimbledon radio presented by Marcus Buckland (build-up and first 3 sets) and Richard Connelly (set 4). Marcus and Richard were joined at various points by Jill Craybas, Barry Cowan, Lucie Ahl and Barry Millns.

Commentary from Nick Lester and Wayne Ferreira (sets 1 and 3) and Rupert Bell and Barry Cowan (sets 2 and 4). The commentary was available uninterrupted on the live at centre court service.

As with yesterday the studio team provided analysis between games and they had Sonja McLaughlan and Faye Carruthers out and about around the grounds and on the hill speaking to the fans.
