BBC Bristol / Somerset

Johnathan Ford (studio host)

Saracens v Bath (Aviva Premiership) (1300GMT) - Nigel Barden and Nathan Earle (95.5FM / 104.6FM / 1548MW / Bristol & Bath DAB / Online) (as BBC London online)
Bristol v Moseley (RFU Championship) - Andy Champion and Luke Eaves (104.6FM / 1548MW / Bristol & Bath DAB / Online)

With the recent acquisition of Gavin Henson to the Bristol team, Andy joked that maybe the marketers should rename the team to 'Bristol Welsh', ala London Welsh!

Mark Poyser was there for BBC Radio Wales, for the same reason!

Good to hear this - I always find it enjoyable when the different radio broadcasters come together and merge their commentary teams during the limited over games at the end of long tours, so it's great to hear that Test Match Special, ABC Grandstand and Radio Sport will be working together to produce their Cricket World Cup commentaries. I look forward to listening to them when I first get chance!

(A massive reduction in the amount of people BBC Cymru/Wales take to Scotland there!)”

This will have been because S4C were broadcasting Scarlets v Connacht game live earlier in the day and also as BBC Two Wales had their usual Scrum V Six Nations Special magazine programme going out on Sunday night, meaning that a number of the people who'd be used by BBC Cyrmu/Wales on the radio side on international matchdays were needed for TV - certainly that was the case with Phil Bennett who was at both Parc y Sgarlets and in Cardiff for Scrum V.

Marc Kestecher presented The NBA on ESPN Radio from Madison Square Garden, New York City alongside P.J. Carlesimo

Basketball: 64th NBA All-Star Game
Western Conference @ Eastern Conference - Kevin Calabro and Jon Barry (commentary), with Marc Stein at courtside

The same team was used in their same roles for ESPN Radio's coverage of the All-Star Saturday Night activities, while Kestecher and Carlesimo commentated on Friday's Rising Stars Challenge with Stein at courtside.

Indeed! One of the best things about TMS is hearing some of the different voices from around the world, not just summarisers who maybe more familiar (like the excellent Jeremy Coney) but the 'play-by-play' guys as well. I'd never heard of Peter Walsh until the weekend but thought he was very good.

Rick and Non's commentary on the France Women v Wales Women match was used on BBC Two Wales' Scrum V Six Nations Special, complete with shots of them in the commentary box, as part of Non's report on the match.

Good to hear that Nigel Ringland was back on radio on this side of the Irish sea. For many years he was talkSPORT's correspondent on the Northern Ireland football team's home games, but he hasn't been heard on that station for quite a few years now.
