Should this be a date to keep in the diary? We know Mick and his troupe lived in Watford with Linda's mum for some years. We also now know Jay has tickets for this match dated 5 days before the 30th Anniversary of the show. Will this bear some significance in the future? What do we think will happen?

That's a really good link actually. It might be nothing but it's subtle and clever so could be intentional. I truly have no idea how it could reveal itself to be important.

I would guess a possible coach crash?

If its a coach crash maybe the killer makes a dying confession.... if Lee killed Lucy during a PTSD episode then a crash could be the perfect trigger for his memory to come back.

I didn't think Jay and Abi would actually be leaving for Bolton though. I thought Jay's arrest would be what makes them stay.

What about getting a tie in to real life?
They play the real easterners team and the story is shown on screen. Bit like billy and the tourch

There is no EastEnders team. That football team they had was just for fun as opposed to Bolton and Watford which are genuine professional teams.

I didn't think they would be leaving either. I'm not sure there is a link more they just had to find a north london team playing bolton

I think Watford should win that match Keep it tight at the back, zonal marking at corners and counter attack with pace. They should have too much firepower for Bolton. Especially if Bolton play the diamond formation in midfield.

Maybe Bolton have to cancel and they end up playing the newly formed Weatherfield Wonders instead?

Abi and Jay don't move to Bolton after all so like Soap Lea said they just needed a north London team and Watford was the only one they could use. Purely coincidence.

Jay still has tickets to the match and Watford isn't in North London mate. Not sure about the coincidence you're on about.

Watford is in North West London. Just within the border of Hertfordshire. Therefore it was the only London area team they could use for a Bolton match.

Nice spot but it will come to nothing.

So what if it doesn't. That's not the point.

Watford is in Hertfordshire, not London and what are you on about the only London area team they could use? Do you know anything about football, lol?

Ok its based on real football fixtures watford is the only realistic option of teams near where eastenders are set unless phil wants to support a birmingham team or maybe he would like a bit of essex with brentford.

My bad thought watford was north london

I don't think you quite understand the thread and it's point and I think you've confused yourself a bit

See Soap Lea's post above yours. If you don't understand the football fixtures and which teams are playing in the championship league then I'm not the one confused.

Good theory!

I too think there could be very clever and carefully hidden clues here, the dates of this football match could indeed be significant, especially if Jay, Abi or one of the Carters are responsible for Lucy's death!

If this is true, I expect DTC to be arrested come 15 Feb for match fixing

Bolton Wanderers play in the Horwich area rather within Bolton itself. Won't be surprised if they miss that fact.

I can't see this being too important unless Lucy's killer is revealed there to be honest.
