I've just tried logging in because I'm having major signal problems - I currently have no service what-so-ever - and it's telling me the username and password are incorrect/not valid, when I know for a fact they are.

Just for a laugh I bought myself a cheap chinese dual sim phone (ZTE Blade S6). Turned up today with EE and VOD PAYG sims. I'll use the VOD for 2G calls with my number and the EE sim for data. At least that was the plan. Topping up the VOD sim took about 2 mins and I was off and calling.
Despite trying all day through My EE on the PC and on the phone app, I can't give them my money. It's awful. Just keeps throwing errors or I go through the whole thing and then it just says it can't take the payment as card security is important. This is despite me going through 3D security and yes I have used the debit card elsewhere today. In My Account when I click Top Up it says 'We can't find a mobile number for this account. Please associate one with it'. If I click on devices it shows the phone and the number. HOW THE F*&^ DO I ASSOCIATE A NUMBER? IT DOESN'T TELL YOU. A month back I attempted to move my home BB to EE from Sky and due to a monumental cock up they nearly cut off both my phone lines and almost lost the number I have had for years. It was only a heroic lady at Sky who saved the day and managed to cancel the EE order. Methinks they need to spend a little time on their back end systems. It's all very well having the best network but I can't bloody use it. PS: having a dual SIM phone is interesting as you can see the clear difference between 900 / 1800 from the same sites, especially indoors. Come on EE. Wake up. |

My EE when it works is great.
They do seem to have issues with it all the time. Just logged into mine and all seems well. Sometimes though you get random data amounts or none at all showing. Brilliant! They'll probably have it sorted by the time BT take over and then it'll break permanently! |

PS: having a dual SIM phone is interesting as you can see the clear difference between 900 / 1800 from the same sites, especially indoors. Come on EE. Wake up. Most recently my gf put in a PAC transfer from O2 to EE (on EE's site) and it somehow never went through so I called them up and the guy had no idea what was wrong, he then put me through to someone who just answered with "hello" because he didn't even work in EE's customer service he was just someone who worked for EE internally. Never mind that, once the number was successfully transferred, EE's system refused to take payment from multiple working debit cards (for a PAYG topup) so she had to buy a top up voucher in a shop. And yeah of course the app, it's 50/50 if it's going to show the correct information, or any information at all, today mine shows I have 0mb/0 calls/0 texts. This stuff is really annoying, but I haven't actually had any really serious problems with them, I imagine it must be an absolute nightmare to resolve anything major. For me, they just can't get the basics right. Maybe I'm just unlucky and they aren't actually that bad. |

I think this is a result of them attempting to merge all the brands into one which so far has taken, what, 5, 6 years, and it's still happening.
I can't even begin to imagine the nightmare it must be to be an IT tech in there. It's a wonder it works at all really. |

Tell me about it. EE's network is pretty great but their service sucks in my experience. Two times I've had issues registering new sims, both times the EE website wanted me to login using my EE number and then claimed that my number was not an EE number. Having to call them up and then have their automated system tell you to pay for the pleasure of trying to fix their problem is fantastic.
Orange, however, do use the phone number to log in with (it would also explain the 'not a valid number' error). |

Its a bit unusual to have the two networks on exactly the same site, they will be at different heights as well wouldn't they?
Anyway who needs 2G ![]() Who needs 2G? I do. Down here in pasty land it still plays a major part in mobile comms. 3 have excellent 3G coverage but can you use it once they turned off the Orange 2G? Nope. Rubbish. It's why I bought a crappy dual SIM chinese phone. It does VOD 900 for voice which is a huge cut above any 1800 offering here and I can stick in a second SIM for data. I was hoping that would be EE but what a total bunch of crap that is. I can't even top it up. Useless. Bloody useless and damned frustrating. |

Pasties are Cornwall.
We are Cream Teas. I don't think EE like you. You are going to have to wait 4 years for Three to merge with O2.

I'd just like to put a tenner on the phone and see how it works. You would have thought that by 2015 they would have that kind of stuff sorted.............
I'm on EE business and it's always Scotland and they are always totally excellent. I mean they even called me back once when they said they would. This only ever happened when we had Bakelite telephones didn't it? EDIT: You're gonna have to persevere though, the ZTE is 4G 800/1800/2600 isn't it? 4G is getting good down here. You need to test that! Make sure you use Rootmetrics though or 1 test will eat all your PAYG data. Hahaha |

So that proves that the Devon pasty was first. At least in my mind. O2 and 3 smell like old pants. I'm done with them. |

Will be interesting to see who you get through to if you call them.

They want cream teas too, even though they make them upside down and stole them off us. Pasties were invented in Devon and that's that. Yes, Cornish pasties are proper lush but it's a different product and personally, I believe the crimp should be on the top. That way, the contents explode all over your car as soon as you bite it so it's better.

I mean "bey" is close but there isn't actually any combination of characters that produce the sound... "Bey".... Arrrggghhhhhh!!!!!! |

Yeah but you have to remember that with the bakelite phone came the occasional 20,000 gigawatt Lightning bolt flying out of the phone (how we laughed) and when it got dry you had to pour a kettle of water down the earth cable to get it working. Then when you picked up the phone Mrs Langworthy would be chatting to her mum on the party line. So you had to wait until they hung up or if your legs had been chopped off you had to politely request that you cut in. Mad.
Nor do I think (and I could be wrong) could you use the excuse that you bled to death simply because your telecommunications provider couldn't be arsed to provide enough lines for everyone to have a separate one. |

Yeah but to be completely fair to BT (or was it the GPO back then?), it wasn't that often you accidentally got your legs chopped off.
