The Lola Saunders Appreciation Thread

As you may have seen, Lola was the final auditionee last night. She is from the Newcastle area, came with her grandparents and sang Make You Feel My Love. She felt quite emotional singing it, and the judges were all impressed.

Lola is my favourite auditionee so far this year. I hope she progresses to the finals.

Any of you who also like Lola are welcome to say so here!

I love her.

It is great that Lola has made it to the finals. I think the suspense of whether she would get through got the better of her during intervening performances. I preferred her version of Stay With Me to Sam Smith's. I incidentally found her prettier in Xtra Factor than in her performance on X Factor.

Just a little doubt I have is why Lola is trying to slip into a cocnkey accent, dropping Ts for example?

Lola is far from radiating "I am the winner". However, I like her and hope she can conquer her lack of confidence.

Her accent is a mix of her father's geordie and I believe her mother is from Birmingham (or somewhere like that). I can hear both influences.

Yes, I hear her alternating between accents a bit. I think she showed more charisma than recently as her performance on Saturday gathered pace.

I am mildly encouraged that, despite being a wildcard, Lola is one of just 9 acts not to have been in the bottom 2 yet.

yeah I like her too I think she needs a big song to really shake her nerves right off but she definitely has potential. I'd certainly would like to see some of Lauren's confidence being 2 of my 3 faves left in the competition. They need all the help/Confidence they can get.

To some extent Lola did shake her nerves off last night. Regrettably it seems that not enough people found her distinctive enough for her to do better. Still, she has overtaken several non-wildcard acts, including girls Stephanie and Chloe, to get this far.

Lola had a pretty and approachable demeanour. I hope she will at least get plenty of local gigs now.

Further to this post, Lola has just had a local gig! She came to the Christmas Extravaganza at Birchwood Shopping Centre in Warrington yesterday. It also featured a few other local singers (including Olivia Archbold who it transpired was on BGT a few years ago) and concluded with fireworks. She sang Make You Feel My Love, Imagine, Crazy and You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman.

Lola and local rugby player Ryan Atkins stayed behind to sign joint photocards promoting Birchwood Shopping Centre afterwards.

Lola admitted to considering Andrea and Ben potential X Factor winners!

Joe was back home in the NE this weekend for a couple of sell out Christmas shows to finish off this year's tour and he invited Lola to be his special guest

She was really nervous so we gave her a standing ovation before and after she sang beautifully

She sang Imagine and then duetted with Joe on a fun version of Last Christmas. My friend's video made it onto DS I thought you might enjoy it

Thank you for reporting Lola's gig with Joe here. She is doing a few gigs at the moment, like Warrington and St Helens earlier this month.
