Aliona and Gregg on zero. No wonder Aliona was peed off, she knew he'd be disliked

I thought that as soon as I heard he was on.
However until last night I had no idea that he'd presented over 1100 editions of Bargain Hunt plus he's a regular on Antiques Roadshow.

That could mean he gets the older person vote which could keep him on for a few weeks.

I was shocked at his pairing with Natalie as she missed out on last year and she should have got Tony Jacklin last year as he was paired with Aliona who stood in for Natalie.

Frankie & Kevin are my favourite couple, well matched and I think she will be graceful in the ballroom and good at the Latin dances.

Difficult to know who will be out first, last year was so obviously going to be Tony but this year.......not so sure.

I'm not sure if this was just speculation or ever confirmed, but I think last year the original plan was Ben/Natalie and Tony/Kristina but they rejigged plans after Natalie had to pull out and Aliona was brought back in at the last moment.

Tim and Natalie for me - they won't win, but will be lovely and graceful and a lot of fun (plus got to love a man who dances with his specs hanging round his neck!).

Of the real contenders Frankie and Kevin looked good - but may just be too cute by the end

Difficult for me as some of the celebs I would have supported are with pros I don't much warm to.

At this stage I'm most looking forward to Sunetra and Brendan, Tim and Natalie, and keeping an eye on Caroline and Pasha.

But also pretty charmed by Tristan and keen to see if blokey-bloke Steve can be made into a dancer. Scott and Joanne are also interesting.

I was divided between Frankie and Kevin and Thom and Iveta, but went for the first pair as I assumed Thom would get the crumpet vote. As it turns out they were even before I voted!

I'm looking forward to seeing how Caroline/Pasha and Sunetra/Brendan work out.

I'm quite interested to see how most of them perform actually

Not keen on many of the pairings (never heard of many of the 'celebrities'). I was so hoping that Judy would get someone instead of Anton.

I guess I like Thom and Iveta and Tim and Natalie. Very disappointed that Aliona got Greg too.

Will wait and see I guess.

I like most of them but I went for Alison and Aljaz,,,,(the two Ali's )

Torn between Alison & Aljaz and Thom & Iveta.

Went for The "A" Team in the end because this will be a great fun partnership regardless of whether Alison is good or not. She's 'bubbly' personified and Aljaz comes over as a really warm, fun guy.

Really happy Iveta got a contender after having truly served her dues....

Would have preferred Pasha to get Judy as he has never really been challenged. Not sure if he was happy with Caroline - he looked really miserable!

Frankie & Kevin are cute and Simon & Kristina will be ones to watch. She will work him HARD!!!

I'll be rooting for Judy and Anton but I think that the best pairing is possibly Steve and Ola - he seems lovely - and fit - and Ola is great at getting the best out of people - thinking Chris Hollins here.

I think out of all the pairings Anton and Judy was the most obvious. I think they will be good together, she's clearly a very competitive woman and I think Anton must be fairly pleased compared to some of his recent series pairings.

Steve and Ola are definitely ones to watch. Remember when she was paired with Chris Hollins and hardly anyone knew who he was.

I think Pixie and Trent could be the ones to watch. She looked great in the group dance. I also like Thom and Iveta - he could be good if he can move well.

Tim and Natalie at least hes intelligent and I know who he is

Tim is in joint third place and the joint most popular male celeb. Great stuff!

I'm feeling sorry for Gregg and Aliona. . Couldn't someone vote for them? (i've already voted for Scott and Joanne.)

Too late to vote, I'm afraid, but I'll own that I'm interested to see him and Aliona dance, and particularly how they get on in training. I wish these threads were multiple choice.

Well yes. They shouldn't be dull. The less support a couple has, the more I feel inclined to support them. Just me being perverse I suppose!

Never heard of Jennifer before, but I liked her on the launch show and love Tristan, so I think they'll be fun.
Joanne is an unknown quantity to me, but I like Scott, and they seemed to click, so might be a good pair.
Caroline and Pasha will probably be really good and I think she's fun, but I'm so bored by Pasha getting a pretty, young thing, that I feel indifferent to them at the moment.
I really want to support Iveta and Thom, but I got such dull vibes (from him) on launch night, that I'll have to wait and see
I like Judy and really want to root for her but I can't bear Anton. Would it be rude to set up a Judy (Not Anton) Appreciation Thread?
I like both Alison and Aljaz, but nervous about how that might go. If she channels FUNNITY, I'm out...
Of the two 'pop-princesses' I've surprised myself by taking to Frankie much more than Pixie. I found Frankie more excited and enthusiastic (and better at dancing) on the launch show. But I don't love Kevin...
Pixie and Trent? Neither one grabbed me.


It's been a long time since I didn't have a front-runner on day one, so it's going to be interesting for me in a different way.
