The trouble is I reckon most of the men hope to be paired with Ola... The pro dancers know this and I would say that Greg and Jake both looked disappointed...

I thought Aliona was incredibly rude, though I haven't heard the rumours so I am purely going on what I saw. She would hardly look at him.

I must have been watched a different programme, dont think she was rude at all

geez, the poor lady just cannot put a foot right on this forum can she - if she had jumped for joy she would have been accused of overacting and faking it - no matter what she does, its never right in the eyes of Digital Spy

Jake yes, Grey in all fairness did not. He was very gracious unlike Aliona.

Just rewatched it, she was downright rude. Perhaps I or other DS forum members have different standards of what we believe to be good manners.

I agree, she came across as really rude and although I understand her disappointment, I thought she could have made more of an effort to look pleased like Natalie did. Gregg does seem a bit creepy.

Must admit I thought Aliona would get a contender this year and I was also very shocked at Natalie getting one of the older competitors.

or maybe some DS posters just love to hate at any given opportunity

what exactly did she do that was so rude?

she smiled, she took his hand, they walked off together - what else was she supposed to do in the 10 seconds or so that they were stood with Tess

If Aliona wasn't rude how would we know it was her?

I'd read beforehand that Aliona was going to give a bad reaction so was primed for scowls and foot-stamping. Her expression was fixed and she didn't look delighted but I didn't find her rude. I'm neither a fan nor an opponent of Aliona so I'm not being partial towards her.

The quicker she takes charge of that relationship the better. If Gregg is left to set the tone, he'll try too hard and come across badly. She needs to get him off-balance, working hard, and out of his comfort zone to cut off his defence-mechanism attempts to charm.

PS the early training sessions are my very favourite bit of the show, where you get to see how the various characters work together or not, and watch the pros gauge the limitations (or talents) of their partners

Apparently this is being rude.

I think that Aliona just doesn't do the exuberant jumping up and down thing when she's paired with her celeb. I'm not sure she even did with Matt Baker or Harry Judd. It's just not her. (I think she might have danced over to them, but I don't think she jumped about, though I could be wrong on that.)

Aliona was rude unlike Natalie who was lovely with Tim.

I didn't see the rude reaction that everyone else seem to have seen either.

Aliona doesn't do fake, but there's nothing wrong with that.

To be fair to all concerned, my feeling is that the difference there isn't one of rudeness but of genuine connection, Natalie didn't have to feign a thing. She has shown before that she's not conventional exactly. For example Vaughan's complete lack of syncopation in the axe jive disaster was a huge pleasure to her. Yes, Natalie was charming and spontaneous but I think that means she is spontaneously charmed by Tim

Don't think ANY of the girls wanted to be with Gregg.

The looks of relief on their faces at the announcement were almost as good as Aliona's poker face.

Lets hope the camera crew are always around during training - for Aliona's sake!

I think Aliona and the odious Gregg are perfectly suited.

BIB - I noticed that too - she seemed to be looking off to the side a lot.

The usual garbage thread about Aliona so soon. Congratulations!

Had she done cartwheels and screamed with delight we'd have had the 'Aliona is so fake' thread.

It wasn't her way when she got Matt or Harry either, and looking at the picture posted by Fatskia, what exactly is rude about that?

A completely over the top thread about Aliona as usual!

She doesn't do basic courtesy either, it seems.

I sometimes have to work with people I don't like. But I don't roll my eyes and look away in front of the person in question and other people.

She didn't roll her eyes and sometimes she looked at him sometimes she didn't.

I tend to agree. It was rather a strange disorganised piece in the Mirror, where the point that he never used to like reality tv was placed by the wife almost on a par with his cheating. And another thing-itis. Felt like long-distance squabbling. That in itself didn't make me warm any more or less to Gregg largely because I'm not comfortable being made to overhear private arguments. Their marriage was their marriage.

I don't exactly want to support Gregg to win the whole show but I don't want to have the show spoiled by a move to demonise the guy either.

Have you got a link to this eye rolling?

Actually I haven't been 'dissing' him just on the basis of that tabloid interview with his ex wife!

Before that interview I didn't like him - IMO he's a deeply unpleasant man - I don't think he's a very good judge/presenter on tv and there are just too many unpleasant stories about him in the media for there not to at least be some truth in them. Oh and he's also an arrogant, egotistical convicted thug.

As for Aliona's expression on getting Gregg - give the girl a break, if she had that response to any other male contestant in the line up - I'd perhaps be less forgiving but this is sleazy Gregg Wallace we're talking about! As for comparing her reaction to Natalie's on getting Tim - I don't think that comparison holds any water either because yes she may have got a non contender too, but it looks like she's got a charming man who she's going to have great fun with.
