Panasonic TX-50A400B - Green light flashing, UI going mad

Loving the new 50 incher, but last night it started bugging out on us. The input menu kept popping up, settings, and in general going made. The little green light flashes constantly like the remote is stuck, or something is being pressed.

I've taken out the batteries on the remote but it's still like the buttons are being pressed somehow.

Tried it this morning and it' still doing it. It stops for a while and starts again which is particularly annoying as you can imagine. Have had it less than a week and pretty disheartening to see a 'problem' already.

Is this a thing with Panasonics? Don't make me fly the LG flag again

edit - Called up Panasonic and they say to reset factory settings, [while ferociously fighting against the tv's schizophrenia, we did this] and it's still just flashing the green light and going mad. ugh!

Definitely not working as it should - As its only a week old you need to be ringing up the retailer that sold it to you, pretty sure you are entitled to a replacement.

Are there any other remote controls in the room? Possible that one of them is malfunctioning and causing the problem. So find them all, including the TV's own and take them out of the room completely. See if that has any effect. If it does stop it bring them back in one at a time until you find the culprit.

However if taking the remotes out of the room does not stop it happening then chances are it is the TV. In which case it is faulty. So take it back to whoever you bought it from and let them sort it out.

Under the Sale of Goods Act you are entitled to have full postage refunded or have the item collected at the retailers expense if you are returning faulty goods. See section 11 of this

With an item of that size and value I'm sure Amazon will make arrangements for collection - hopefully you still have the box and packing.
Simply follow their returns procedure.
I returned a soundbar and it was collected from my home address without charge

Just out of interest was it from Amazon direct or a marketplace seller?
