or you could get the free 'home signal' box from 3 ?
)It took me a small amount of effort to get one, including being a bit forceful ("I know you aren't improving coverage in my village, it was the same 3 years ago, please send me a box or I may have to cancel again"). |

They aren't that easy to get out of 3 though, and with the intouch app its probably even harder. I guess you could claim that you don't have a smartphone (or a windows phone, same difference

I have lowered my monthly gas and electricity DD from £143 to £113 by simply turning stuff off when it isn't in use.
Plus when the price does go up they dont say oh you are only allowed this much do they ![]() However, the fact is still that they're all new tariffs. There was no price rise, there was a complete change to the way they did things, with a whole load of new tariffs with varying levels of calls, texts, data and tethering (with a maximum cap of 4GB and £5 per 1GB to add more). As for your energy bills. Why not use less electricity and gas AND change tariff to a cheaper deal? I actually took the time to research tariffs (after all the fuss in the media) and got a fixed price until mid 2015 that means I'm guaranteed to save money if I use the exact same amount.. but I've adjusted our heating, reduced the time the hot water is heated, and got LED lighting almost exclusively throughout the house. My bill should fall quite a bit now. And I'm still on the £15 One Plan with AYCE data and tethering, so saving a fortune there too!!! |

I'm am sure the zealots will love me bringing this back up but i have just noticed the Tariff i was paying £12.90 for 7 months ago now costs £20. Its hard to recommend Three to anyone when they are ramping up the prices like this.

Interesting though, that mention of letters arriving giving notice of the termination of the one plan, and migration of existing (out of contract) One Plan customers to their other tariffs seems to have quietened off, and there has been no mention of them, since late Nov / Early December on this, or any other of the many forums I read.
Yes, i've no doubt that they will eventually, but it just seems to be going very slowly, given that the first batch sparked a long thread and almost daily discussion, both here and elsewhere, yet not one single person has mentioned a letter arriving recently. |

So ive spent a bit of time looking at alternatives and to be fair im paying more for less with EE (in terms of data). the tariff you mention is still better value for some if you consume a lot of data. Youll struggle to find much better as long as the areas you live , work and play in have decent coverage. |

From the network testing I did yesterday in London (I'll post the video later) Three does appear to be struggling now.

1 month contracts should be cheaper. They are so expensive at the moment..
When he's looked the same tariff is now 20 quid and he has said bollocks to that if you are paying £15, anyone would think Three don't want new customers. |

Three sought to acquire customers by offering discounts of up to £10 a month, later reduced to £5 a month, on some tariffs.
There's nothing to say Three couldn't do that, but discounts/sales don't always last forever or get repeated ad infinitum. At some point, Three decided it's now ready to try and make some money - which it will need to roll out 4G and upgrade capacity, bid for new spectrum etc. Maybe Three will offer more discounts/offers in the future. For example the unique tariff for the new Honor phone. |

Where else can you get unlimited 4G, for any price? No where. At £12.90 for AYCE was a steal, and at £20 it's still good. EE will charge you £19 for a 1 month rolling 1GB sim-only plan, and for 5GB they charge £31.
It's obvious that Three wouldn't keep an AYCE deal at £12.90 forever. |

"free 4G" is meaningless when it has tiny coverage and shoddy performance where it does exist.

Unless Three are getting a brand new version of the current Honor 6+ Huawei sell why would they think a handset that doesn't support 800Mhz is a good idea on a network rolling out 800Mhz? A person might suspect someone at Hutchison Whampoa HQ isn't au fait with the current UK 4G market... |

It seems to me it is Three that thinks the entire world wants unlimited everything and millions of calls. |

EE charges you for 4G but when you use it, you know why If you have poor service from Three in your area and you don't like the tariffs, then don't use Three. Same goes for anyone on any network, you are gonna get a different service depending on where you live. Quote:
I'm not bothered about unlimited 4g, I'd be happy with 4GB of 3G. On three in the main 4g speeds = 3g speeds anyway. However there is a gaping hole in the plans they offer when it comes to 4GB, the catch is they come with 600 or AYCE minutes and so the price can be kept higher.

I don't know any network that would give you 100 minutes and 4GB of data, for example, most of EEs plans give out unlimited texts and minutes and that's the way it's going to go as data becomes the only thing that's actually worth paying for. |

You have missed my point which was most of us do not need anything like the amounts what we are paying for.
Think about how much it costs networks to carry data compared to a simple text or voice call. They may as well offer unlimited calls because it looks good and is very cost effective for them. I think the prices would be the same if they gave you 100 minutes or unlimited minutes as what you are really paying for is the data usage. |

I don't think we are paying for the minutes at all. Look at EE/O2/Voda sim-only plans, once you get to plans with 1GB or more data, unlimited minutes and texts are thrown in.

I think the prices would be the same if they gave you 100 minutes or unlimited minutes as what you are really paying for is the data usage. The 100 minutes you are so fond off was only me in giving an example, to be honest 50 minutes would do me, it was to prove a point it was not to set an arbitrary figure. To many i suspect 2GB of data and 2000 texts may as well be unlimited. Call something unlimited and boom, instant price premium. |

Here is my promised speed test from London (and Hatfield!) showing Three and even EE is beginning to suffer a bit in some places.
