This is BB:USA by Viacom, I am not sure if this will happen to ours. Live feed sounds good through: http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/

Problem is, I can't see how pay LF would increase the audience. If anything I'd have thought it would probably reduce it further, although obviously it would increase revenue.

The show won't change, It's a production of Endemol not C5 or Viacom.

Ta for the link - I've switched off stealth mode at the moment as it messes up some sites I access, so get the 'not available in your region' message. I'll check it later.

I assume that is the new show, created by John de Mol (who also created Big Brother), called "Utopia". It is currently on in America and Holland. www.utopiatv.com (has 4 live feeds on the website)

It will with the amount of funding it gets though.

Endemol couldn't have changed that drastically from the golden age of BB to now without any interference.

If Endemol had more money, They probably think of bringing back the feed because they sick of the moans about it.

Id very much doubt it, for two reasons.

1) the main show is on Channel 5; most viewers wouldn't know VIVA and C5 are related so it would be silly to put one of C5's main show's spin offs on there.

2) VIVA is available to viewers in the UK and Ireland. Channel 5 only have the rights to BB in the UK. That's why people in Ireland cant watch videos on the BB website; so it would be even more unlikely we'd be given access to live feed. Of course, Viacom could buy the rights to BB in Ireland too, like C4 did, and it probably would be quite cheap, but I'd doubt it

The VIVA problem can be sorted by Viacom blanking the show out in Ireland, Mind I think Ireland won't mind Channel 5 launching over there.

Now I wonder for how long the last lot of charlatans has locked up the HD service with Sky?

It might be years! (All contracts should be null and void when someone else buys a company.)

"He who pays the piper calls the tune"

That is why Channel 5 have been able to change the show to the current utter childish crap that it is.

Money talks and if Channel 5 say they want something a certain way, endemol will bend over backwards to do what their paymasters want.

MTV and Comedy Central HD is on Cable/Sky.

MTV and Comedy Central are not mainstream channels of PSB counterparts.

We are talking about a main PSB channel having it's HD counterpart locked up. Now whilst legally the CAN do that due to out-of-date Ofcom laws, it is the only PSB channel who do that with their main PSB channel.

All a major difference to and couple of satellite channels like MTV and Comedy Central.

SpongeBob

Also, 10,000 BC sounds like a type of Survivor or BB1 kind of format, just based on centuries ago. I have a feeling that it will have a live feed...whereas BB won't. It does sound interesting.

It's extremely odd that either show hasn't been mentioned unless an announcement is due following the conclusion of CBB.

I can't believe the show is in the hands of the gods for a second time and it make's me wonder if they will replace it with new reality formats?

I also have a feeling we may not learn of BB's fate for some time to come yet.

I would very much doubt that this will be that kind of show.
The big hint is that it will only have 10 episodes; I'd imagine this will be something which is filmed and edited together then broadcast weeks or months later, like TOWIE or MIC, though hopefully not as tacky

Emma said on BOTS a few nights ago that CBB will be back in January!

I don't see why VIVA would air BB live feed. Would it not be 5*?

I'm quite intrigued to see what form it takes, looks very interesting. Only ten 1 hour episodes, could they be highlight shows? 2 per week for 5 weeks seeing as the spinoff show that is airing on MTV only has 5 episodes commissioned so maybe that will be a weekly review/news/big mouth type show?

I missed that one!

She didn't seem so sure in last night's BOTS!

I think it will be interesting to see how this does. MTV has created a lot of original reality TV shows over the years and have never really relied on pre existing ones. It will be curious to see whether this is a test to see whether they need Big Brother or whether they can draw similar ratings with their own brand (Which would probably be a lot cheaper to pay for than Big Brother )
