I don't expect that this will generate a lot of dialogue but I do think our man in the hat muso should have his own thread.

When I see him smiling away in the band it gives me a sense of comfort. God is in his heaven, Trev is in his hat and all is right in the world.

I've always appreciated Trev too and hope he sees this thread and posts here where he'll be so welcomed.

He fulfils exactly the role required of a man in the hat, and you can tell there's good spirit in the band because Dave Arch has never begrudged the man in the hat his fame; neither has the man in his hat used his popularity to win a seat at the front or a glittery shirt or anything a lesser man might have sought.

The band is great. They add a proper energy and live feeling that's much more dynamic than a prerecorded track.

The man in the hat gets a cheer each week from many households, that is a wonderful thing to achieve in a lifetime and the cheer is well deserved he seems a lovely man.

Yay. Man in the hat is at the back behind Mr Arch this year. And he gave us a wave.

You know when you were a kid doing a great big 5000-piece jigsaw of brown river water, brown banks and some brown ducks, and out of weird, childlike tenacity, refused to do the bright red boat in the middle until all the soil and water and brown stuff was done?

Last weekend I saw The Man in his Hat's hat brim and wrist for the fleeting second they were on screen. And in a moment of bliss saw him faraway and half-obscured. I was there on the Five Thoughts thread reassuring Starpuss, yes, yes, he's really there!

This week apparently there was a real sighting of him. Centre stage. Waving. And I simply didn't see him

I don't normally post in the App section but I'm so happy to see Trevor "The Man in the Hat" has a thread here. I too always look out for him and particularly smile if he tips his hat to the camera.

Dear All,
I was told about this thread and I have to be honest and say I didn't believe it. I haven't been on the forum for years as I didn't want to be involved with any negative comments or some 'dissagreements' that some people seem to enjoy, each to their own, not that it's all like that of course. Apart from playing in the band I'm a fan of the show.
I hope you are all well and enjoying the series.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and that I'm faltered, and a little embarrassed, about having my own thread, I never thought I'd see the day, wow.
Keep well all.
Best

Are you the real man in the hat??

I'm ready to believe. Nay, worship

On the off-chance you are the real Trev, I'll say we (most of us) love the band. You bring a proper good energy to the live shows that recorded music couldn't get near. It wouldn't be the same without real musicians (or real musicianship )

Sorry DS is such a grumpy place... Know exactly what you mean about the disagreements and negative stuff. But the attic (up here in the Appreciation threads) is different. The mods will zap the evil ones.

If you are he I am star struck.

And if you are he you deserve your own appreciation thread. Your cheery face behind Dave Arch is part of the SCD experience for me and I know I speak for many.

Celebs come and go, pro dancers come and go, judges come and go and even presenters come and go but while Trev the Man in the Hat keeps smiling all is well with the Saturday night teatime world.

Thanks for saying hello.

Wave to Trev

A couple of years ago I went to Plymouth to see Kara and Artem dance with the band.
Great night, afterwards got a cuddle from Artem and a chat with Kara, but the highlight was------
Trev coming by with a wave to the crowd
